I am beyond excited to announce that ggplot2 4.0.0 has just landed on CRAN.

It's not every day we have a new major #ggplot2 release but it is a fitting 18 year birthday present for the package.

Get an overview of the release in this blog post and be on the lookout for more in-depth posts #rstats

It's still hard to admit that I've been struggling with my comics work (the thing I was known for!!) but getting to write this essay was a truly lovely and centering thing to remind me of what will always still matter (little guys).
Today's Love Letter is from the unstoppable @shing.bsky.social. Shing's ode to Making Little Guys is one of the single most nourishing pieces of nonfiction I have ever read. Maybe you need this one as much as I do.

everyone tell me your favorite subway interactions. one time this older dude sat down next to me, called me a snow bunny, and opened his bag to show me that it contained piles of banded cash

How is there a *new Rachel Hartman book out* and I did not know about it! I live under a rock, but still!
Out tomorrow! I know the world is shit right now. Not gonna lie, releasing a book feels like spitting into a tornado. But maybe it can be restorative when you're exhausted, a balm to your heart. When the well is empty, maybe it can be a little rain.
Up now at @reactorsff.bsky.social, the first chapter of my upcoming novel, AMONG GHOSTS!

1. Atlantic Puffin (OP #9)

Did you know puffins are about the size of a soda can?

Do you love them even MORE now?

I play puffins every time I can in Wingspan not because it's a good strategy but because puffins are chonk-billed clown-faced miracles.
