Holy hell. DHS just openly stated that its agents use “reasonable suspicion” to make ARRESTS. This is blatantly unconstitutional. The Supreme Court is clear that you need probable cause to arrest someone, as opposed to stop them to ask them a question or two. This is huge b/c…

In the middle of finals, Senior year in college, I drove 3 hours down to DC to get 15 minutes with Jane. She gave me all evening, and many subsequent evenings over decades.

I will miss you so much, Jane. You had a presence that felt like being deep in the forest.

Many conservatives won’t admit or even recognize their preference for systematic inequality by group, & they claim abstract principles guide their views. But you’ll notice that no principle is applied consistently, and what explains their behavior most consistently is advocacy for group privilege.
