Cabin in the Woods. The friend I went with and I were clutching each other trying not to laugh hysterically at the elevator scene, since it’s theoretically supposed to be scary. We were shushing each other with increasing volume.
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?
Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.

It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

I think it would be fun if writers who love language started intentionally writing more strangely as AI flattens written "content" into a mono-voice. it would cool I think if writers responded by focusing their individual efforts on cultivating a really unique voice that's hard to copy

Rewatched Willow and it rules.
However, I'm once again reminded of how much more scary stuff was on VHS because of just how terrible the picture quality was. Those death dogs in Willow are great (inspired the gohms in Infinity Train) but on VHS they were even more visually impossible to understand!

I just made the decision to swap biscuits to Navajo frybread for dinner tomorrow (specifically as a fuck you to Columbus/etc) and I’m feeling pretty good about it. I’ve never made frybread but it’s an old family secret that spite, not love, makes food taste better.
