The one video on YouTube that’s helping solidify my jump to Fujifilm.

Eyeing the X-T & X-E series as a primary system. Maybe the X-M5 to familiarize myself with APS-C.

I don’t think it’s a serious downgrade from Full Frame?

this movie drives me insane (in a good way), because in the same way people were surprised that Spider-Verse 1 was 3D, everyone was surprised Klaus was 2D.

those two films did so much to pioneer new visual looks of their respective mediums, and i wish Klaus got more credit for what it did.

Btw this is one of the biggest reasons why it’s not as easy as people think to start up independent newsrooms or just be an indie journalist on substack. If you are actually holding powerful and rich people to account, you WILL need legal representation. Not a matter of whether but when
I say that as someone who has started newsrooms from scratch sometimes with two people - if you’re doing your job correctly you will need a lawyer because the first thing rich people do when you write something they don’t like is threaten you legally. It’s cheap for them and expensive for you

i know there's been too much news to process in the last 6 months, but it's kind of crazy that we've somehow memory holed the two days where the government claimed trump was a secret informant for the fbi and that's why he was hanging out with epstein. what

Deeply annoyed to see performative internet progressives pretending antisemitism doesn't exist in 2025 because balancing the intersectionality of being both pro Palestine and anti antisemitism is too hard for reductive, moral absolutist posts.

In 2025, America saw the highest number of measles cases in over 30 years. That’s just a preview of what’s to come as RFK Jr continues his rollback of vaccine guidance.

CBS paid the president of the United States millions in bribe money and now they censor news reports so it does not annoy him. I don’t know how much plainer we can put this.

What historians (and other scholars do) is create knowledge. We should use that phrase more and talk about what it means. I think we don't, and it's part of why AI enthusiasts are confused when we don't readily agree that our work can be replicated/replaced by their products.

Murders down 20% in a year where all the losing candidates in the mayoral race took up "the city is so unsafe" as a talking point. We really need to start framing such talk as "people are trying to make money off of lying to you about this"
I highly doubt we're going to get to 300 (or under) but damn that's very close. Great news that NYC is going to have ~300 murders this year.

This and the discussion about how academics can now just read AI summaries of things really drives home how much these guys always confuse the product for the goal. You don't do a coloring sheet because you want to have a colored sheet at the end!!! The coloring is the point!!!
This is just sad.

I think I found the Netflix show that they were filming in Coney Island last September: Black Rabbit.

To the visual effects artists that possibly had to clean the background ‘cause I was recording while they were filming: sorry for adding in extra work.
