Pentiment might be the most underrated, least talked about video game that I can think of. It is truly a brilliant work of art.
I am the stupidest person on the planet and I am going to play Pentiment

Planning an event at 8pm is ambitious. In the middle of the winter, with the yen this low??

The thing I like most about Johnny Silverhand as a depiction of a revolutionary is that he is very unpleasant and sucks to be around. why won’t Cyberpunk 2077 let me fuck him.

Dems thinking this is a gotcha moment instead of a flex of imperial power kinda shows why they aren't ever ready for the moment
Trump talks about Denmark and Greenland just now: "The fact that they landed a boat there 500 years ago doesn't mean that they own the land."

I dont engage with a ton of Japanese media to the determinant of my Japanese but when I do I find it to be so cruel? Perverse? Cold hearted?

I like studying history because it really exposes twitter fingers and allows for a wider perspective
I could be hungry, homeless, and butt naked in the freezing cold with no plasma left to sell and signing up to be an ICE Agent still wouldn’t cross my mind.

Yes yes more division. Split the resistance further before her body gets cold! Victory is at hand!

Big endorsement for a lot of random 3rd party candidates cause this ain't the democrats
The “prosecute the former regime at every level” candidate has my vote in 2028.

A dying empire is when you can do what you want with impunity, take no losses and then have to sell a business deal afterwards.
Trump is trying to force US oil companies to rebuild Venezuelan oil fields that are too expensive to invest in at current crude prices while a full blown energy revolution is happening with cheap solar and electrification growing exponentially.

This is a dying empire shit.
a lot of interesting revelations between the lines of this story www.politico.com/news/2026/01...

No one wants to do anything about it tho. Everyone's lifestyle is too comfy
Rubio is claiming that they did not need Congress permission because it was a law enforcement mission. The US is behaving as a global police state, extending its own arbitrary legal decisions to the whole world.

This is not a problem just for Venezuela.

Needs more Americans to liven the place up a little bit. Filipinos too.
Sankei graphic shows how, in 2015, Chinese were the largest foreign population in 34 of Japan's 47 prefectures. By 2025, Vietnamese had become the largest population in 33. www.sankei.com/article/2026...

I wanna get my PhD but in no way do I think I'll work in academia. Life is full of extremely long side quests
“It is increasingly common for PhD holders to juggle part-time teaching positions at multiple universities simply to make a living… a doctorate often means entering a career path defined more by uncertainty than by opportunity.”

Japan-specific issues, but the degradation of knowledge is universal.
In Japan, entering a PhD program can be a big gamble. Ryo Konishi and Stefan Aichholzer explain how the current state of graduate education and research funding is leading to steady declines in Japan's research workforce.
