I found this quote in 2009 but it's even more relevant now: "Same as it always was. Turn the angry mob against the poorest and the least able to defend themselves, while you pick the mob’s pockets. Has it ever NOT worked in this country?" -- gypsy howell

After Renee Good, hemorrhaging blood, crashed her car, a man from the neighborhood approached and said, "Let me take vitals and help. I'm a physician."

According to a witness, ICE responded, "We don't care. Stay back." And they blocked him.

These people are stone-cold monsters.

This is the only correct position, and the inevitable response from knee-jerk centrist reactionaries of "it won't work" is not a valid objection. Every member of Congress has a duty to say that what Noem has been doing is not acceptable.
I am impeaching Secretary Kristi Noem, who is an incompetent leader and a disgrace to our democracy.

She wreaked havoc in the Chicagoland area and has brought her reign of terror to Minneapolis. One of her rogue ICE agents shot and killed an innocent woman today. It must come to an end.

Abolishing ICE is the bare minimum.

We need to dismantle DHS. We need restitution. And we need trials.

ICE murdered a beautiful young mother in Minneapolis. They shot her three times in the face. She was a poet. She played guitar. She had a six-year-old kid and his toys were in the car when some subhuman thug with a badge shot her in the face

There is no forgiveness for these people.

They killed quite possibly the most sympathetic person imaginable. They killed a literal Hallmark movie trope.

AOC: ICE has less accountability than virtually any law enforcement agency in the U.S., yet they are some of the most well-funded, operating with impunity—and we just saw them murder an American citizen in cold blood in the street.

The reality of a police state is that most protesters will flee before police violence gets extreme. That's what Renee Good, very sensibly, was trying to do. The killer prevented her from doing so, stepped in the way to hold her there so he could kill. That's a murder state.

This is excellent coverage: it gives readers context beyond the specific incident, showing a pattern of excessive force, and also documents that DHS keeps using the same and increasingly debunked explanations. Much better than both sidesing the shooting.
Important context for claims that the Nicole Renee Good was obstructing/assaulting officers before she was shot & killed:

The last time immigration agents shot a woman (Marimar Martinez, Chicago) they made similar claims. Prosecutors have already dropped the charges www.cbsnews.com/chicago/news...

There were people in 1970 who thought the student protesters at Kent State deserved it when they were shot to death.

I’m reminding myself of that so I don’t fall into denial and imagine the sadistic glee I’m seeing on X about the ICE shooting is new. It’s not.

It’s a strand in our cultural fabric.

As far as I can tell, that person died trying to comply with orders to get out of the way, but even beyond that, I am from Chicago, where people have tailed and blocked ICE vehicles and very intentionally gotten in the way, and you know what? They shouldn't be free to kill us for resisting fascism.
