and I thought yellow snow was bad.

fuck these pigs.
ICE was in Cedar Riverside today. Amazing community turnout, be mindful of the layer of pepper spray in the snow all over the neighborhood

People do not need you to tell them their rights to stop the lawless armed ethnic cleansers.

They need you to shelter them. To delay and stop the abduction. To seek a government run by people who will not stand for this & will prosecute any who would.

frankly I'm not leader material but think I could be a great follower. second or third in command. Just enough ambition and charisma to be supremely useful but not nearly enough to be a threat.

cars shouldn't be able to turn on red. but shouldn't be able to turn when people are crossing, either. cars just shouldn't be able to turn period, unless the road curves.

leave your vehicle on the street you like most cuz chances are it's not gonna leave often.

Wild story, a font service was bought out by a US company and now they are absolutely dogshit and it'll particularly heavily affect JP games, especially service titles.

So the outcome of “ultra processed food” lawsuits gonna be banning all preservatives, and food will go stale/moldy/bad super fast -sickening even more people and wasting folks’ money

And meanwhile, polluters will slip their bribes in and we’ll still have pesticide contamination in food

Hillary Clinton blames TikTok and “totally made up” videos for young people’s views on Israel and Palestine.

She says social media influenced “not just the usual suspects” but also “young Jewish Americans who don’t know the history and don’t understand.”

I've said this about AI but we can only truly harness the power of ALL automation if it lets us ALL work half as hard as before. e.g. 50 people working 40 hr/wk currently becomes 20 working 40, when it should become 50 working 20, for the same pay as before.
I’ve spent a lot of time in the past 18 months really working to, if you will, kill the neoliberal in my head. as someone with my politics, I’ve been surprised by how much there’s still been to excise.

anyway, maybe productivity and efficiency are scams, and redundancy protects human happiness.
every neoliberal policy analyst wants to "trim the fat" of society until the lean times come. community level resilience, redundancies, etc are good actually

Well, it seems like it's official. I've been defeated. We will be doing the renter's shuffle, despite my best efforts to keep us in our current place.

It's sad, it's not cuz of any rent increase or financial hardship, rather just plain bad luck at finding a replacement roommate. I'm really bummed.

The authors say their findings warrant an urgent review of vaccination strategies

Individuals who receive a measles-containing vaccine maintain seropositivity for a decade; however, the vaccine’s protection declines gradually thereafter.

I don't want a "mayor for everyone". I want a mayor who looks at a map like this and say "wow a perfect outline of my very concentrated and isolated political enemies. let's start drawing plans."

the plans being bulldoze everything and replace with trees, bike lanes, and towers of social housing.
In Seattle City Council's city-wide Position 8, incumbent Alexis Mercedes Rinck defeated challenger Rachael Savage by a more than 4:1 margin. Savage won in only 8 of Seattle's 2038 precincts.

holy shit. horrifying. I ride here all time.

every entrance to the Burke needs bollards and every single crossing needs speedbumps. it's wild how much danger there still is on the artery of Seattle's bike network.

You’ve been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who’s coming to save you?

I'm watching DS9 again. So it's possible I will catch some Miles O'Brian suffering but I'll be back at Quark's soon and forget the whole ordeal.

People need a basic e bike they can depend on.

A state program could also make it easy to trade in and recycle parts as they age. Bring back your battery in five years and get a new one at cost.

Your local bike shop could be the center of a new new deal and a new green circular economy.
your company employs the standards or just straight up throw a US Bike Co drive system onto your bike, you get the sticker of approval and increased ebike rebates.

free training for local bike shops, who get to put a "We repair US Bike Co here!" sign out front.

But I wanna see big industrial policy. Like, US Bike Co. Publicly owned. Could maybe sell it as a national security typa deal, due to lithium stores.

US made bikes. With open standards so private companies could participate and benefit from increased consumer confidence and new infrastructure.
