Because it would make so much fucking sense given my family history, and my array of small weirdo symptoms that are just normal enough that nobody who is not me would ever notice.

But it was interesting to see that study that someone with that deletion had been diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos.

And I theorized that I'm possibly a carrier of a 1q21.1 deletion, and that 1q21.1 deletions can cause connective tissue fuckery, even though I'm not obviously hypermobile and don't have the usual symptoms of such.

At this point I will someday pay out of pocket to see if I carry this deletion 2/

So I just went digging into 1q21.1 deletions (deletions of small bits of DNA on chromosome 1), and I just found a study where a girl who had Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome had a 1q21.1 deletion.

Now, I had a bad reaction to ciprofloaxcin which has a black box warning for Ehlers-Danlos... 1/

(RNS) — Last month, the Rev. David Black stood in front of a Chicago-area U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility and spread his arms wide. Adorned in all black and wearing a clerical collar, the pastor looked up at a group of masked, heavily armed ICE agents on the roof and began to pray.

“I invited them to repentance,” Black, a minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA), said in an interview. “I basically offered an altar call. I invited them to come and receive that salvation, and be part of the kingdom that is coming.”

But when Black began to lower his arms a few seconds later, the agents responded to his spiritual plea by firing pepper balls, or chemical agents that cause eye irritation and respiratory distress, video footage shows. One struck Black in the head, exploding into a puff of white pepper smoke and forcing him to his knees. Fellow demonstrators rushed to his aid, and as the pastor rubbed his face in pain, the agents continued to fire.

“We could hear them laughing,” Black said.

I went looking for a photo of Sugar earlier, because she was one of my favourite fosters and @lfgryph.com shared a kitten who looked very like her.

I'd lost most of my photos in the fire, but this one, my favourite photo, was still in my FB messages with the rescue. Look at her! 2023

A small tabby kitten is killing a red fluffy mouse and you are NOT allowed near it. She has her ears back in full airplane mode, and she was growling at me the whole time. Sugar has an offset white splodge to the left of her nose (photo right) and little white toes. She is adorable.
