Niels Bohr was born on this day in 1885.

“When it comes to atoms, language can be used only as in poetry. The poet, too, is not nearly so concerned with describing facts as with creating images.”

If you can somehow set aside the blatant racism: I agree, hospitals should receive the same base payment for doing the same amount of work under the same conditions! The status quo is stupid and one looks silly justifying it! And do I have a model to that purpose that will blow your mind.

Mike Johnson: "If you're a young, pregnant American citizen women who shows up in an ER and you get treated and they pay the hospital less for treating you than some illegal rabble rouser who came in from some South American country to do us harm, that is wrong."

BREAKING: I finished the book club book, so I maintain my streak of always finishing the book club book. I warmed up to it a bit by the end and would characterize it as "pretty boring but alright"

It also gives you enough to show that the motion of the planets follows the same rules as motion on earth which was the first time physics took two things that seemed totally different and showed they're the same. One of the most beautiful things in physics and you can teach it in high school!

I go off about this several times a year but I am once again thinking about how the concept of inertia is such a huge intellectual leap. It makes so much sense to think that "not moving" is the natural state of things but once you let go of it all of mechanics falls into your lap. Newton, man.🐐

Dmitri Shostakovich saw Jesus Christ Superstar! He also liked it so much he considered writing a rock music themed suite (like his earlier Jazz suites) but died soon after.

Another incident of federal agents pointing guns at Chicago area residents.
Tweet from @laura_n_rod

Text: A federal agent points a weapon at a woman who was recording them.

Jess, a U.S. citizen and member of a neighborhood patrol team that documents and shares ICE activity across the city, was filming when the incident occurred earlier today in the Berwyn area.

Sounds like an analogue to RFC1149, IP over Avian Carriers.

MIB is already a pretty heavily overloaded term in the networking space, so maybe IPoAB, for Aquatic Bottles? Keep me updated on the committee results.
