THIS. Did you know sickle cell is curable, now? FULLY curable.

If you're feeling down or despairing about what FEELS like technology/advancement/science "standing still" or being fully malicious, I have great news: You're not paying attention to actual science. Just tech industry marketing.
meanwhile.... medicine has taken INSANE leaps and bounds in the last 2 years.
we're out here curing HIV and leukemia and creating 100% efficacy vaccines against all sorts of cancers, and now this??

between this and renewable energy outstripping fossil fuels in efficiency, the future is bright

RIP Tim
Jim Wampler announced this morning that we lost Tim Kask, who passed in his sleep on the 30th.

Tim was the creator of The Dragon, which set the foundation for what an industry-focused magazine should be. He was an icon and one of the few early founders of TSR still with us.

UBI would be revolutionary not in the "yay I can buy more things" way at all, but because it would give everyone the basic safety they need to make decisions that are good for them. It would un-trap us all in profound ways. There would be divorces, job quits, housing improvements, better health.

There is a whole lot of room for reasonable disagreement when it comes to how a country should be run, and in that sense liberal democracy does mean not always being happy with what becomes law. But liberal democracy is supposed to protect the vulnerable from those who disagree with their existence.

Saying that one group of children cannot have medicine that another group of children can, under penalty of imprisonment, is not liberal democracy.
She helped pass a bill—which is 100% part of liberalism. Maybe you don’t like the bill. Maybe the bill will hurt some people and have bad outcomes. But that’s part of liberal democracy.
