You don't defeat fascism with love for fascists.
You defeat fascists with love for your neighbors.
That's the power of love. I understand now.
I finally understand.

Most trans people are reasonably scared about a Keir Starmer situation. For uninitiated, Starmer is a guy who lies about his positions constantly. changes those positions with media messaging, the word of local billionaires, and polling. His inability to hold a position led to the far right surging
Gavin Newsom isn’t going to lead an anti-trans pogrom in 2028 for the same reason a Republican governor just vetoed a bathroom bill in New Hampshire: rounding up trans people is heinously unpopular with anybody remotely well-adjusted.

well, you shouldn't vote for newsom in the primary
Don't say you weren't warned? How is this not a weird attempt to strong arm people into not supporting Newsom, or any candidate you're not on board with, in the primary? Getting really tired of the take my ball and go home crowd lecturing about political maturity.
look if you want to freak out about people not voting newsom if he's the nominee a week before the 2028 general election, I kinda get it (but don't say you weren't warned). doing it now though is just a weird attempt to strong arm people into supporting him in the primary.

It's also just not evident based. For all the evidence Cass had tried to amass, this speculation that kids who might have ceased being trans are being frozen in time rather than helped to develop their growing minds, identity and agency by exploring and expressing it actively has zero evidence.
Pure moral panic. How, precisely, would a child who experiments with a different haircut or pronouns get “locked in” to a trans identity?

The parents who had no problem letting her identify as trans suddenly restrict her from identifying as cis? It makes no sense.
"if they socially transition too early we think they can get locked onto a trajectory that may not have been the correct natural trajectory for them"

Direct quote.

Rs did exactly what progressives said they were going to do, which is make immigrants at large the problem because their end goal is white nationalism, not a better immigration system.

There was never any border crisis and when you pretend that there is *some* kind of problem with the system to placate Rs, you allow them to paint immigration as the problem itself. What should have been a full throated defense of immigration became a bigger crackdown at the border

And in the mind of the public, that validated R claims far more than it made Dems look like good faith negotiators. Dems who think this is about proper documentation and asking people to immigrate "the right way" have their heads in the sand.

Again, all I'm asking is that any Democrat who wants my vote support 1. Reverting Trump's anti-trans policies, 2. Commit to fighting against the future erosion of trans rights, and 3. Support legislation codifying trans rights into law.

Very weird how many of you centrists think that's unreasonable
