if every democrat doesn’t use the “we took freedom of speech away” on every messaging apparatus they have every single day for the next 4 years assume they want to lose

As a reminder, when Jack Posobiec was in the US Navy, they assessed his full capabilities and concluded that he was best suited to collecting samples for urinalysis

Incredible.

Jack Posobiec references the earliest version of antifa -- the anti-fascists in the Weimar Republic who were opposed to the Nazi Party -- as the bad guys.

Q: Have you given any more thought to possibly suspending habeas corpus?

TRUMP: Suspending who?

Q: Habeas corpus

TRUMP: I don't know. I'd rather leave that to Kristi.

WE'RE GOING TO TAKE THOSE PEOPLE I PARDONED, ACCUSE THEM OF BEING ANTIFA, AND PUTTHEM BACK IN JAIL
atrupar.com
Q: There's compelling proof that antifa did infiltrate on January 6 dressed up like Trump supporters and incited violence. Is that something you'd like the new J6 committee to look at?

TRUMP: Well I've heard that. Yeah. We will be acting on some of that.

So cool that whenever someone asks the president, “did you eat the Lindbergh baby” he’s like, “no but I’d be allowed to, I have the right to, I might do it later”

On the one hand, this is cowardly behavior

However I have serious doubts Ubisoft would have actually made this a good game

Sources: Leadership nixed it over concerns re: U.S. political climate, backlash to Yasuke

Got a recent Pulitzer for warning on the spread of autocracy around the globe, after decades of service to the paper? You can bet your butt you're getting laid off by form email, on Yom Kippur

The Post laid off seemingly the remaining of their liberal-leaning staff members on Opinion last Thursday, when some of them were observing Yom Kippur.

I'm pretty sure this is demonstrably untrue given that Democrats have shut down the government to stop Republicans from allowing the ACA premium tax credits to expire.

back in late 24 early 25 a common refrain in the dem establishment camp was that voters should feel the pain of their decisions to teach them to vote for democrats and i think they still believe that and are acting accordingly

this has got to be the stupidest and most blatantly "unamerican" group of rulers this country has ever had. if you can't win against "goons in the streets, rotting food in the fields, orang is 90 dollars now" then i dont know what to say

The point is, don’t say you’re stopping them if you actually can’t! Pretty simple. And certainly don’t let your state troopers HELP them.

Trump has "federalized" 300 Illinois National Guard in addition to Texas arrivals. One of the managers at my local food co-op downstate was just called up this week. For all I know, he's as much of a vegan pacifist as the next guy. Pritzker could order up MORE National Guard and what then?

Trans rights are civil rights. If you aren't willing to die on the hill of trans rights, then you aren't willing to die on the hill of Black rights. Of Jewish rights. Of disabled rights. Of gay rights. Of anyone's rights. Human rights.
talleststone.bsky.social
I hate to say it but the majority of the country is not going to die on the hill of trans rights. We can’t protect ANY groups if we can’t win a national election, so purity tests only serve to make specific groups feel triumphant. That’s not “erasing” them; it’s long-horizon strategy.

The suspect accused of igniting the fire that destroyed LA's Pacific Palisades neighborhood allegedly used a ChatGPT prompt to show "a burning forest and a crowd fleeing from it," months prior, officials say
Man arrested, faces federal charge in connection with Palisades Fire: DOJ
The fire caused widespread destruction in Los Angeles County and killed a dozen people earlier this year.

"Oh dears" is a way to call attention to the tiresome fact that in some quarters any criticism of Newsom is seen as saying mocking is not a valid political tool. That's absurd. Of course it is. It's that his method talks to nobody but those who already want to hear it.

OH dears, is your way of calling for his tribalist followers to start the dog pile, because his views were challenged and his was lightly mocked.

a fun experiment on here is to say something along the lines of "in the past i misread something and that was a mistake" and see how many people swoop in with "you fucking piece of shit you misread shit, fuck you"
spiderhyphenman.bsky.social
No, the alleged Palisades arsonist using chatgpt to generate pictures of cities on fire before starting the fire does not mean that his mind was warped by GenAI. There are hundreds of ways in which GenAI is a fucking scourge on humanity but this is not one of them.

Edited Calvin & Hobbes comic where Calvin is screaming for Mother 3 to be localized while his father (Nintendo) explains the various reasons why he doesn't want to. In the end, Hobbes and Calvin reflect on this new retelling of the story where everyone in Tazmily is murdered.

The fact that they can't get a random sampling of citizens from any city to indict people for interfering with ICE seems more informative than any political poll, tbh
spiderhyphenman.bsky.social
I agree with the moral argument here but I simply don't think it's politically tenable to filibuster government funding without having an alternative bill of your own. You can't justify that without going to literal war with the party in power.

Bridging my current life in Chicago and my past life in D.C., I argue today at @newrepublic.com that Democrats should ~never~ vote to fund this government. Make John Thune blow up Senate rules and Republicans wholly own the U.S. extra-military military doing war crimes against us, funded by us.
The Case for the Forever Shutdown
Senate Democrats actually allowing the GOP to stop funding the government is only the first step. Now they have to make the case that Trump’s government is illegitimate.
