Delete Spotify
In April 2024, Spotify implemented a new scheme: songs with less than 1k streams per year would no longer receive royalties.

The data for 2025 was just released via Luminate, and 88% of songs have been demonetized.

Read it again: 88% of songs on Spotify have been demonetized.

Every modern FPS game (COD, Battlefield) is set around this "realistic" plot of: "What if Russia got embroiled in a war with Central-Asian & Middle-Eastern powers and NATO responded?" to set the scene.

Whereas Fallout went with: "What if the world ended because the USA is fucking stupid?"

I think this is what is really aggrivating about Walz and Frey. If you’re gonna not use *any* state resources to help the situation at all (tbf, they are using lawyers, but the Court decided that could wait a week), at least get your body out there on the line
It’s time to demand our leaders and politicians stop talking about non-violence, and start demonstrating more physical courage by DOING non-violence in the streets.
So far, all the courage has come from ordinary people, and almost none from our leaders and politicians.

Guys collective retribution is a thing and it’s a thing articulated by the current head of DHS. Calling for “peace” is not being conciliatory it is being strategic.

Cripes a’mighty people, Steven Miller is not staging a militarized ethnic cleansing and sending the border cops to murder people in the street to distract from the Epstein files. He’s doing it because he and Trump (and Vance and Homan and Noem etc) really really want to.

Not only that but Space 1999 had a consistent story line that totally made sense.
The Eagle is so much cooler than the Enterprise.

“Don’t tread on me” has always been macho posturing for “quit telling me I’m an asshole for using slurs and being terrified of the people I’m using slurs at.”
The "Don't Tread On Me" people sure love to be tread on.

You can't even leave your home and cower in terror and think you live in a free society?

For everything else about Trump, it's remarkable how similar his natsec process is to George W. Bush.

It's seemingly almost entirely driven by an insular and small group of people with pathological fixations on working informally to steer all American policy toward their decades-long grievances.

Ask your friendly academic librarian about all the times we tried to tell you that what we do is important and you should fund it. You get the services you pay for, friends.
Lolololol at every academic who has paid zero attention to their library or constantly-decreasing library funding suddenly being like LIBRARIES SHOULD HAVE BEEN DOING EVERYTHING THEMSELVES AND OUTSOURCING NOTHING like we all have teams of programmers and software engineers.

This is going to date me quite a bit but I think one could be forgiven for thinking this is what happens if you feed the collected works of Martin Amis to an LLM and then ask it to read you bed time story in a sultry woman’s voice.
Okay, I think I figured out how to turn the audio sample into a video that can be uploaded to Bluesky. Here are the first 3 minutes.

I really hate it when people use the phrase “democratized knowledge“ as a point In favor of AI. We’ve had democratized knowledge for a couple centuries. It’s called public libraries.
