Icelandic folklore tells of the Yule Cat that terrorizes children if they don't have new socks for Christmas.

folklore does not specify whether the Yule Cat is adorable or not, tho. ❤️🐈‍⬛

“Governor Trudeau” is part of the Trump administration’s ethos of pathological insecurity. A weak person is constantly compelled to insult and belittle others, even allies, to show “strength.” An actually strong person isn’t. Bullies are weak, as are their sycophants.

My objection is that everyone signals their virtues all the time in public spaces. Almost all discourse signals one's virtues to some extent or another. The idea that you can only signal virtue in a lib way is a dumb and largely unchallenged one. Elon signals his virtues every day, and they suck!

Fighting In The Dark
Doing things fascists can't do. Not doing things fascists want us to do. Doing thing fascists don't want us to do. Refusing the fascist offer.

This week I wrote about consequence in an age of coming fascist supremacy, the need for ourselves to find safe people, and to identify unsafe people, and the ways that they will tell us which they are often without even knowing they are doing so.

Rules Of Engagement
A hopefully smart look at the frequently not-smart discussion around boundaries and inclusion.

Thinking of getting someone off fiverr to follow me round in the role of a sort of scheming vizier. They can say stuff like “of course, you know best,” before pausing for long enough that I bark “out with it then!”, and then they go “perhaps if I may…” Shit like that. Six dollars an hour.
