HMRC are giving 1 million people a £100 penalty for filing their tax returns late, even if they don't owe ANY tax.
Nadhim Zahawi dodged £3m in tax and repeatedly lied about it for 6 years.
All HMRC did was make him pay the interest on it.

Honestly whenever I hear that argument about why UBI should be restricted to poor people, I hear "why should libraries or public schools be free for rich people?". Because it's a thousand times easier to implement a universal benefit and tax the shit out of wealthy to pay for it, ya numbnuts.

He is one of the small number of European troops who went to Afghanistan and never did much nor went to the front line according to Donald Trump.

I'm increasingly convinced that if social media existed in the 1930s Germany, there would be endless videos of Jews being hauled out of their homes while people watched like this. People let this happen because they can't fight the state and it effectively encourages learned helplessness.

You cannot overstate how startling it is to see a politician just say the thing with clarity and poise. No fearful hemming. No overwrought qualifying down til it’s meaningless. No lingering sense that there is a loyalty to a donor class or an ideology of stasis that they’d never admit to.
