The women in this 1964 photo of Beatles fans (yes, that's what they used) could not get a credit card at Bank of America without their husband or father cosigning. So, no. The answer, CBS and Bank of America, is no.

For months, the Trump Administration has sought to deny Kilmar Ábrego Garcia his rights to due process and fair treatment by our justice system.

Today’s ruling by Judge Xinis – requiring the government to immediately release him – is a forceful stand for our Constitution and all of our rights.
Federal judge orders Kilmar Abrego García’s ‘immediate release’
U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis said the government could not indefinitely detain Abrego, a 30-year-old immigrant from El Salvador who is fighting his deportation.

We’re a full month into ACA Open Enrollment.

Families are scrambling to figure out how they’ll afford to pay double, triple, and even quadruple in premiums.

But Republicans are still uninterested in joining Democrats to stop these disastrous price hikes.

My brother Jonathan @recoveringpol.bsky.social quoted in @theguardian.com about the US hemp industry.
"The US hemp industry generates $28bn a year in revenue and employs 300,000 people, according to Jonathan Miller, general counsel for the US Hemp Roundtable."

Or to put it another way, nine times as many people work for hemp than work in the coal industry the administration so desperately props up.
What will a ban on most US hemp products mean?
Ban forbids all products that contain more than 0.4 milligrams of THC per package – a trace amount present in most CBD products

When Trump was asked about the release of the Epstein files, he called one reporter "piggy" and said another was "being insubordinate."

When Trump saw a video calling on the military to follow the constitution, he called for the death of the Democrats who made the video.

He's a tyrant.

Even in the house of horrors that is vaccine-preventable illnesses, polio stands out as particularly terrifying.

But the darker chapters of public health history do not seem to faze anti-vaccine activists. Now, it’s polio’s turn to be downplayed.
The anti-vax movement's wildest claim yet: Polio wasn't so bad
Add this to vaccines make you magnetic, cause AIDS, and measles is not a big deal.

The factional grifters will hate this, but the Mamdani-Spanberger-Sherrill axis actually suggests the outlines of a broad, emerging Dem coalition organized around both anti-Trump *and* affordability politics, not a party bitterly divided against itself.
These big wins will embolden Dems to take on Trump's lawbreaking and show there's a price for GOP enabling of him. Folks hate to hear this, but normal patterns are asserting themselves: Liberalism isn't dead, Rs are likely to lose in 2026, and Trump is really unpopular, not a magical exception.
