I'm worried about the news. Audience fragmentation, ignorance of how propaganda works, and a public appetite for unverified information is *bad*

In our recent October poll, 2% of Americans said their primary source of news was CBS. They disapprove of Trump by a net 20 points.
I doubt a campaign against elites and academia — left-coded groups, in the Trumpian formulation — is going to help ratings www.gelliottmorris.com/p/what-your-...

Apparently, the testimony of 40 minors was not enough to convince then U.S. Attorney Alex Acosta (later a Trump appointee) to prosecute Jeffrey Epstein.

This is one of the biggest cover-ups of our generation. @oversightdemocrats.house.gov won't stop until the truth comes to light.

Critical part of the President's new $100,000 charge for H1-B visas: The Administration can also offer a $100,000 discount to any person, company, or industry that it wants. Replacing rules with arbitrary discretion.

Want visas? You know who to call and who to flatter.

Republican lawmakers in Oklahoma introduced legislation this week that would require every public university in the state to construct “a Charlie Kirk Memorial Plaza”, with a statue of the assassinated Republican activist and a sign calling him a “modern civil rights leader”, or pay monthly fines.

If this were discovered in a leaked email and published in the New York Times, it might get more attention. But Trump just tweets it out, and most people move on with their day. This is blatant corruption. Blatant weaponization. It is undeniably an impeachable offense.
Trump posts a deranged message to Pam Bondi pressuring her to prosecute his political enemies after a U.S. attorney quit because he refused to fabricate charges: “We can’t delay any longer, it’s killing our reputation and credibility.”

It’s not being charged as a federal crime because it’s not an assassination. Or a hate crime. Nor did it happen on federal land.
NEW: Charlie Kirk's alleged assassin has been charged with state offenses because — for now — there's no apparent federal nexus.

One thing it means: proceedings in Tyler Robinson's case are likely to be televised.

And it’s all to pay for more tax cuts that primarily benefit the super-rich.

After each mass shooting, the public asks, “How did we get here?”

The real answer goes beyond NRA lobbyists and Second Amendment zealots.

It lies in large measure with the strategies of firearms executives like Richard Dyke.

Neither a gun enthusiast nor a right-wing ideologue, Richard Dyke used political connections and lobster giveaways to build Bushmaster, the company that popularized assault-style rifles.
