Today, I had to let my sweet Mocha May go (yes, I gave my dog a middle name). Her health took a sudden turn over the past couple of days, and I had to make the hardest decision I've ever made.

I was so lucky to be her human, and I will miss her terribly.

THE DAY CARES ARE LOCKED BECAUSE YOU MADE A GENERATION-LONG EFFORT TO MAKE IT AS EASY AS POSSIBLE TO KILL THE CHILDREN INSIDE THEM YOU ABSOLUTE FUCKING GHOULS
these fucking people. they pass laws to make sure every person with a screw loose who wants an Armalite can show up to the day care armed & ready to kill, then complain that the day cares are locked to protect the children inside
CNN: “Surely you don’t think a daycare should be unlocked.”

SHIRLEY: “There should be a reception area.”

CNN: “No, every day care is locked.”

SHIRLEY: “Fair point.” 🤔

He shows up to a day care with masked men and wonders why they don’t let him in.

I just want to point out that if you are a nondriver in many places across the United States you very rarely get to freely travel using your preferred mode of transit. You can travel but it's often time-consuming, expensive, and/or dangerous.
They got to freely travel in the mode of transportation that best suited them.

Rural America is largely a myth. If very many people lived in rural areas, they wouldn’t be called rural anymore. Where these people actually live are:
- Suburbs (rural cosplay)
- Exurbs (rural cosplay)
- Small metros (rural in the sense of being isolated but still not cornfields)
You didn't say that in as many words. I admit misinterpreting because I'm toggling to a different "fuck rural America" tab of skeets. However, you are talking about "reducing car dependency", which will inevitably infringe on the right to travel. Congestion pricing on public roads is exactly that.

Kind of wild how the take that some of Trump's supporters were "deplorable" was some huge scandal, but regularly screaming about "radical left scum" is just a thing he'll say with no media backlash.

That privilege--the privilege to speak of your religious beliefs as certainties that are incontestable--is given to Christians alone in America. And anyone else knows this and tiptoes around it, reflexively.

But what if we stopped doing that, like this guy did in North Dakota?

A small (personal) example of this book’s intellectual dishonesty:

My father-in-law is reading In Covid’s Wake, and excitedly told me he found a passage where I’m quoted. The quote in question is me saying the FBI worked to censor speech on social media.

Huh? When did I say that?!

FOX: If you cut something by 100%, the cost goes down to 0. If you cut it by 600%, the drug companies are actually paying you

LUTNICK: What he's saying is if a drug was $100 and you bring it down to $13, it's down 7 times

F: Not a 600% cut

L: But it's 700% higher price before. It's down 700% now

Maybe it's easy to forget this as we all wade through the shit-flooded zone that is 2025 but "this country sucked and I, personally, made it great again" is basic entry-level fascism, and "this country sucked because of dirty criminal immigrants who I am now punishing" is actual fascism
