How dare you be rational and empathetic Cathy
When this blows over I might have to share some of the emails I’ve received over the days which really make me wonder why I am the one accused of hatred. There is deep unresolved trauma being spewed by some of these people and we cannot consent to living according to their warped reality.

My problem with Barnaby Joyce is that he’s a textbook stereotype of a red-faced white conservative hypocrite; expensive private school education, pretends to be yokel; mouths religious belief, lives with no piety; condemns “promiscuity” in young women, but has affairs. A disloyal narcissist & drunk.

I always wondered why France had so many heists but if you can still just put a ladder up to a window on the Louvre in the year 2025 and get away with a big bag full of priceless jewels I guess that solves the mystery

1/2 "everyone from News Corp to the Atlas Network, to Advance, to CPAC, to Gina Rinehart are busting a foofer valve—and spending a great deal of money—making the case for the takeover"

It’s the process, says @timdunlop.bsky.social, not Andrew Hastie per se.

I suppose we have to think about Andrew Hastie now, sigh
Okay, but let's be clear on what the real problem is

2/2 It's confirmation of the shallowness of most mainstream media that they frame the Hastie thing as about personal conflict, and superficial policy differences.

But rarely explain [as Tim does] the dark money backers, ideological forces and authoritarian trends that Hastie fronts for. #auspol

"...the real risk in Australia comes...from a slide into the wholesale demonising of migrants [and INDIGENOUS PEOPLE] in our public discourse. If we can address this...we will be doing the one thing that can really make us safer: strengthening our democracy."
When it comes to neo-Nazis, we can’t legislate our way to safety
Both Germany and the United States show us that laws are not enough to combat the rise of fascism- instead, we need to strengthen our democracy.

The start of the algal bloom off the South Australian coast began like a horror film and only grew worse from there. I took a direct look at the role of climate change in making this disaster in my home state for @drilledmedia.bsky.social.
“There Was So Much Death.” A Toxic Algal Bloom Is Ravaging Australia’s Southern Coast—Warming Waters Are to Blame.
Three ingredients are required for an algal bloom to get going – temperature, the right conditions and food. South Australia had all the preconditions necessary, thanks to climate change.
