Last thing on this: remember when Pope Leo made headlines for criticizing the Trump admin for not letting immigrant detainees have access to religious rites?

That was a big part of this protest: it began w/clergy asking police to let them into the facility to offer pastoral care.

They were denied.
NEW: In his first interview since his arrest for protesting outside the Chicago-area ICE facility, @revdrmichaelwoolf.bsky.social tells me he has "bruises all over my body."

Even so, he said, “the cruelty that goes on that facility … must be 100 times worse." religionnews.com/2025/11/15/a...

Remember: There is nothing natural or inevitable about extreme inequality; it’s the result of an economic system that values wealth and power over human dignity and justice.

It doesn't have to be this way.

Seeing the Bill Watterson originals full of pencil lines of stuff that didn’t work, scuffs the eraser didn’t pick up, white out galore and more was something I needed to see to remind myself that nothing is perfect the first go and tweaks need to be made and you’re allowed to try again.

Now it's <2%

Most of those jobs then went into manufacturing

That's now at 2%

We're a service-based economy now
