Mostly book stuff. Some cats and other random, mundane snippets.
I want complete change in my life.

Don't know where to start.

I have tried, for launches and that. The results were... mixed, to say the least.

The thing with making videos about books is that books are boring. Put one on a table, film it, see how excited you get.

I do wonder now and then if I could make videos about books but I always come up against the same obstacle, how to make them visually exciting and interesting. 🤔

My mom and dad always tried to make Christmas special for us. We were poor, but it's funny because we had no idea.

1. Books are easy to wrap.
2. Books don’t need batteries.
3. Books don’t hurt when you step on them in the middle of the night.
4. Books never come in the wrong color or size.
5. Books never need ironing.
6. Books don’t need to be assembled before being given.

Happy day 15 of #LentoAdvent and #MapMonday too, so today's theme is

🗺️ maps 🗺️

Seen a stylish / helpful / unusual / bad / big map while you've been out in town or country? Maybe you made a map of your own?

Don't forget the alt text when sharing your maps.

Shout out to everyone who woke up this morning and decided not to be a dick to someone for no reason (except you didn't decide because the idea of being a dick for no reason probably didn't even cross your mind).

Anyway, good on you. 👍

Just a friendly reminder to surround yourself with the kind of people who support their local library, theatre, bakery, bookstore, and café.

Hopefully the government will take heed but I won't hold my breath.
🚨 The UK government just published a breakdown of the responses to its consultation on AI & copyright:

- 95% of respondents want AI companies to pay for their training data (made up of 88% saying strengthen copyright law, & 7% saying leave it as is)

Things to do in Autumn:
- disappear into a malevolent fog
- cultivate a fine beard of moss
- become a potato wizard
- leave cider & doughnuts out for the Twig Witch
- embrace the darkness within and without you

I write about ordinary characters facing extraordinary challenges. They may cross vast expanses of time and space and the forces arrayed against them may be strange and terrifying, but at the end, it is their humanity, their capacity to love and grieve and grow and forgive, that sees them through.
