i think 3d level design is really dumb and amazing and beautiful... its one of those things that i think as an art form we sort of just "got" almost as soon as the technology was available to get it... like Quake 1 - Gloom Keep, it's ALL there. this might as well be an Elden Ring level

a scene from the charlie brown thanksgiving special where for some reason not only are there eighteen functional toasters in the house, they are all going at once anyway i never really noticed franklin sitting in that one weird chair as a kid but i was extremely pissed off that the kids had to eat jellybeans and popcorn and toast while snoopy secretly made himself a real meal. this dog. this animal got to feast while the unsupervised children suffered it really pissed me off

I’ve been thinking about the show daily since I saw it—his story, the Museum of Modernia, and especially this painting.
A large painting that is mostly red, with various small black objects scattered densely across a vast empty landscape and in the sky above the horizon Info placard accompanying the painting. It reads: “Liminal Wimmelbild Sam Kissajukian Here's something I regret. This painting was my attempt to show the relationship between anxiety and avoidance. The landscape is populated with all the thoughts and ideas you have when moving towards a goal. The sky is where you hang anything not related to your goal, to do later. Eventually, the landscape of your mind reaches a saturation point, and your "to-do list" in the sky becomes full. You become acutely aware of the weight hanging over you, so you avoid looking up, but your mind is so overpopulated that the anxiety is overwhelming. You think, "If I can just get to my goal, then everything hanging over me won't matter." Soon, the joy of the goal withers away, and the sky becomes so heavy that it collapses onto you in an apocalyptic mental disaster, and that's when anxiety meets avoidance. I understand this description is too intense for a wall label. So, when I first exhibited this work, I just wrote "Where's Waldo". One day, a man came up to me and said, "I've been searching for 4 hours and I can't find him". I paused awkwardly, long enough for him to scream, "Noooooooo!" and storm out. So, that's something I regret. But, who knows, maybe he's there. Acrylic on canvas 2023”
