I keep getting the ad for Gemini. Nothing says #AI bubble like google trying to sell Gemini for $27/mo with the use case "you can make elephants that look like watermelon." That's the use case they wanted to show? Yikes.

Wired: fractal parties.
the question is how long this cycle currently gripping BC right-wing politics can continue and how fractionated it can get

But turning to AI for any social use will always, *always* widen the connection gap between you and other humans. It causes social muscles to atrophy instead of growing stronger.

Those of us who see the dangers need to be offering much more support to those who are falling into it

Terribly stupid idea that will satisfy faux-populist urges to dunk on public servants while simultaneously making the lives of public servants and the service itself so much worse.

Goofy stuff.

PM Carney can fuck right off, if he thinks there's going to be another bitumen pipeline in BC.
Premier Smith and I have agreed to a framework built on shared ambitions — to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, unlock the full potential of Alberta’s energy resources, and build a stronger, more sustainable, more competitive economy.

Vancouver, is this really who we are?
Listening to Vancouver Council budget discussion in the background this morning. In response to a question from @seanorr.bsky.social about where they'll be retracting from the city just said they're planning to REMOVE baby changing tables and menstrual product dispensers to save costs. Shameful.
