I’m convinced the main reason Miyazaki films have a reputation for being “cozy” in the West is because he actually writes and animates long moments of quiet into his stories, whereas Western animated films are usually a nonstop parade of loud music, sounds, noises and neon colors.

Miyazaki: in this movie two young girls (one is a toddler) are uprooted from everything they know to start new lives near the rural hospital their mother is in; she is possibly dying of TB. Their dad works several hours away and they are largely unsupervised.

SLEEPING WIZARDS releases in 2027!

Kel McDonald at Iron Circus has bought world rights for Sleeping Wizards by Rusty Marcum (I.), illustrated by Johanna Taylor (The Ghostkeeper), a YA graphic novel in which two comatose wizards' dreams manifest deadly monsters in each other's kingdoms, and a determined Keeper must navigate treacherous alliances and confront
ancient evils to protect her land. Publication is slated for spring 2027; the author represented himself, and Laurel Symonds at KT Literary represented the illustrator.

Sometimes we’re unsatisfied with a thing we made because when it only existed in our head, we saw all the things it could have been and when it’s done we know all the things that it isn’t, but we can’t see the way it expands into a million new things when someone else unpacks it in their head. 🖊️🦑

If I write a game a week, a blog a day, a pixelart image a day, music each week, as well as continuing to build a programming language.. Then is it ok to quickly generate a youtube thumbnail to save myself an hour of extra drawing at the end of a long day of doing the crappy "upload" stuff?
