When I studied abroad at Oxford during law school, it was a common thing for Americans to argue that the written US constitution was superior to the unwritten UK constitution because it's harder to ignore written rules.

I guess that argument is basically over now.

BREAKING: ABC has announced it is pulling Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show off the air “indefinitely” to censor the host after comments he made Monday night about the "MAGA gang" doing everything to claim Charlie Kirk's alleged assassin was "anything other than one of them."

Here is the clip:

On BBC News they just spent five minutes talking to a Turning Point UK guy who spoke of Charlie Kirk's kindness and his passion for tackling "difficult subjects" in a way that other people just don't. He, quiveringly, said he'd seen horrible things said about Charlie in the past two days.
I don't like doing this. It feels fucked up to constantly point out the negative dimensions of someone who just died in a horrific, worrying way. But I would like the media to tell basic truths about this person and his impact on public life rather than resorting to euphemism and outright lies!

Heartbreaking to watch a much of our world descend into misogyny, butchery, homophobia, transphobia and out and out racism and realise that those politicians and media outlets we thought would fight them actually are more confident encouraging them, platforming them and silencing criticism

Spot on.
Generative AI is for people who don’t want to create art, they want to have created art. They want the kudos, the ego, the credit, without doing any of the work. They’re not interesting the art, they’re interested in being seen as an artist. It’s narcissism and ego, and nothing more.

Now the government has been foolish enough to ban expressing support for Palestine Action, it supposes it must follow through with manifestly unjust and pointless arrests. I wonder whether the riots last year radicalised Starmer in ways we haven’t grasped.

1. King John and Philip of France

The powerful foreigner cynically helped put the incompetent, odious sex offender on the throne only to launch an all out war against him.

John bankrupted his kingdom, fell out with everyone and shat himself to death
