Border Patrol officers arrived at a Minneapolis high school while students were leaving and tackled, sprayed chemical irritants, and handcuffed parents and teachers.

Public high schools in Minneapolis have canceled classes for the rest of the week following the incident.

ICE murdering people of any citizenship status should be a very hard line in the sand for absolutely every single one of us. And at this point, I think they’ve done it seven or eight times if you’re waiting for a tipping point, the tipping point was the first time this happened.

I’m joining Rep. @robinkelly.house.gov to introduce articles of impeachment against Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem and will use every lever available to end the terror ICE has unleashed on our communities.

Stay loud.

Just backed this (I think I was backer 250!). It is going unnoticed with all that has been going on, and it really needs a push to get to goal.
Women of Xal II's Kickstarter is FINALLY up and running! Please share with your #VisualNovel friends who like their dark political mysteries, character studies, and cast of queer ladies.

This is very distressing news about RAICES, an organization that I’ve funded and recommended to others looking to help immigrants. I will be canceling my monthly donation.
Our first investigation of the year just landed, and it’s a doozy.

More than 1,000 children across Texas were affected by this.

Through interviews with more than a dozen former employees and the review of internal documents and court records, The Barbed Wire found:

I love the fact that people are posting pets and other wonderful things today. Nourish yourselves in whatever way you can because we have a way to go yet.
Here is how we nourished ourselves tonight: bone in pork chops with garlic and gruyere mashed potatoes. Also a side of beets and yams. 🍽️ 🍜

Today has been staggering. The news, my god. I found peace in a couple of moments: one, in my yoga practice; another while reading about an artist I admire very much. I hope everyone can have a moment or two of calm to sustain themselves. I’m sorry to say, we’re in this for the long haul.

We can sit there and worry about will happen to us if we resist ICE and the regime. Now is the time to stand up and recognize what will happen to us if we don’t resist ICE and the regime.

I still remember Ma telling me five years ago that if these insurrectionists on January 6th were Black, then they would be dead. Five years later, they are almost all alive, out of jail, and their guy is back in the White House. If that’s not White privilege, then I don’t know what is.

I stepped hard on my own thumb while playing racket ball. The nail took years to recover.
What's the most ridiculous way you ever hurt yourself? I got out of the tub, skidded in water and tripped over the toilet. Ankle sprain.

This isn't really a weeknight meal, but here it is. Braised short ribs and cauliflower polonaise. The short ribs cooked yesterday and reheated today. The cauliflower could have used more salt (the recipe called for more). From the Les Creuset cookbook pages 67 and 160. There's leftovers ... 🍽️ 🍜

I specifically said "in the upcoming Democratic primary". You know what primaries are, right? It's when you choose to vote against one Democrat, by voting for a different Democrat.

I'm starting 2026 with my first publication of the year! My poem about the death of David Bowie, "heroes," is in Not of One Us #85. (Coincidentally, this month is the 10th anniversary of Bowie's death.) The issue also includes work by Sonya Taaffe, Jennifer Crow, Devan Barlow, and more.

It is a smorgasbord night as we wait for the year to end / begin. This year our traditional year end meal includes wesleydale cranberry cheese, harissa deviled eggs, butterscotch pear, salami and lots of other good stuff. A cranberry coconut wine is not shown but enjoyed. Salud and happy new year!
