Larger point: 45Q is arguably the most perverse energy subsidy from a climate pespective. Govt paying corporations to capture and store CO2, instead of actually reducing emissions, means incentivizing more extraction and combustion of fossil fuels because more emissions means more public $.

Michiganders, both of our senators voted for the trans athlete ban this week. Please please please call them and tell them they have to vote against the ban on gender affirming care for minors that just passed the house. This bill will kill children.

One of my neighbors has been putting up these fish facts posters. All kinds of different fish, marine, freshwater, deep, shallow, all kinds. This is a good one. “Stg this real fish” took me out. Good work, neighbor.

For the rest of the world, the single case of Mike Johnson refusing to swear in Adelita Grijalva after her special election win, because Johnson knows her vote will tip the scales for the release of the Epstein files, is enough evidence by itself that the U.S. political system is broken and lawless.

Let's be clear: there's funding available to cover SNAP benefits next month. Trump is stopping SNAP benefits because he wants to. He is forcing mommas and babies to go hungry.

This is huge! More libraries + media outlets should be thinking about partnerships serving their shared missing of providing civic information
I’m delighted the Library has been able to step in to ensure the longevity of this community resource, especially as reliable sources of news, especially at the local level, are dying off.
We are thrilled to announce that @aadl.org plans to acquire the Ann Arbor Observer!

Public ownership of local news media is more important than ever, and this acquisition builds on years of partnership and archival work to ensure the future of this priceless community asset.

My hometown’s public radio and TV station is going to close down because of the loss of federal funding, and because Penn State won’t shell out to make up the difference. It would be a couple million dollars a year. The football coach makes $8.5 million a year.

My kids just complained that the lyrics would not load on Spotify & were treated to a lecture about the days when you had to wait for your favorite song on the RADIO so you could hit record on a CASSETTE TAPE and write the lyrics ON PAPER only to find out you got them WRONG for YEARS

I’m a mom, a daughter, a caregiver. I’m a public servant who has spent my career serving my community and now serving the great state of Michigan.

I love my family, my friends, my neighbors and my country and I believe we all deserve to have a voice and to live in safety and peace.
