Well, we're already in a constitutional crisis--and social reactions have been muted. I don't think the DPP is stupid enough to try and push for snap elections when the recalls didn't pan out, so I think it's a negotiating tactic to get the KMT to back down from freezing the Constitutional Court

The defendant's name was not disclosed as he's a minor. What can be disclosed though is that he was just 15 (FIFTEEN) years old when he took part in 6 online meetings with the Hong Kong Democratic Independence Union and circulated 3 posts on social media relating to Hong Kong Parliament. Really DIU!

This obviously sucks. But it's like we paid attention one summer to the fact that US police are killing people—at no less than a rate of 3 homicides per day—THE MOST EGREGIOUS VIOLATION OF DUE PROCESS POSSIBLE, but since The Bad Orange Man Show is the only program on TV we've forgotten/moved on...
