As those extinctions accelerate and the climate crisis makes the world even more hostile to life, what we must do has never been clearer: make and meet our urgent climate targets, and protect and restore our natural world.

We’ll keep doing that right here in London.

It’s something we share with countless other incredible lifeforms, all fascinating and worthy of celebration.

Globally, more than 47,000 species are believed to be under threat of extinction.

Some opposed our work to put nature at the heart of London. I sincerely hope that David Attenborough’s ‘Wild London’ has changed their minds.

We aren’t reintroducing beavers and white storks simply because a thriving natural world is better for humans, though it is.
Beavers are back in London 🦫

Here's how (and why) we did it ⬇️

I do think this is probably also why young people are now more likely to insist they're overtaxed.

As an experiment my boss and I worked out our Net Pay/Gross Pay and my student loan means I'm astonishingly close % wise despite him earning around twice what I do.

It's just not a sensible system.
Essentially Plan B is just an income tax hike, applied in a really haphazard way, at the wrong point in most people's lifecycle.

The epitome of tragedy.
Two years ago today, Israel executed Hind Rajab with 335 bullets.

First, they murdered her family.
Then they killed her.
Then they executed the paramedics who tried to save her.

She was only 5 years old.

“I’m so scared, please come. Come take me. Please, will you come?”

i was actually shocked to see the numbers on new research from Global Energy Monitor on new gas projects in the US: nearly 100 gigawatts of power—enough to power tens of millions of homes—are currently in development explicitly to power data centers. At the end of 2023 that number was 4 gigawatts
Data Centers Are Driving a US Gas Boom
Gas projects in the US pipeline explicitly linked to data centers increased by almost 25 times over the past two years, according to new research from Global Energy Monitor.

Great piece on why this Labour Government's failure has primarily been a moral one
My Trade Secrets today, in which it's fair to say I go off on one.

The Labour party is famously "a moral crusade or it is nothing". On aid, immigration and trade they're going for the latter option, with betrayals of principle both repugnant and pointless. 1/n

[Trump] is pursuing something more out of the 16th-century, what we call neoroyalist international politics.

Foreign policy has become a tool to channel money and status to Mr. Trump and his closest associates. National interests are eclipsed by those of elites.

A timelapse of the enormous anti-ICE, anti-Trump protest in Chicago yesterday (Sun Jan 25, 2026).

They’re trying to tell you it’s a Minneapolis story, that protests are small and confined.

They’re lying.

Alex Pretti was an American hero. He saved lives. He protected people. He cared deeply about his community, unlike the murderous thugs who killed him.

The very last thing he did was try to help a woman who had been pepper-sprayed and violently shoved to the ground by ICE. 1/

This just highlights how important the video testimony is of the brave Minnesotan civilians observing. It is crucial resistance - without those videos we'd be even more lost.
The BBC coverage is absolutely terrible.

It leads on "sharply contested narratives"

It has a dramatic skew to the US government

It has posted the video but has failed to report on what it shows: it shows the US govt account is untrue
