Writer, mom, wife. Intolerant of intolerance. Frequently described as squirrel-like.
So, we’ve got Weird Al doing a straight cover of “Killing In the Name,” and we’ve got Raffi doing a song about democracy in response to the rise of fascism. So…
1. The times we live in are wild.
2. Art is how we fight back.

I’m a middle-aged wife and mom of 3, and I think “Killing In the Name” being my top song of 2025 says everything about this year.

ChatGPT is unavoidable for people in IT now. You learn to work with it, or you’ll be out of a job soon.
Maybe a far more realistic way of dealing with its implications would be charging a use tax to companies who use it to replace workers. Just like polluters *should* have to pay for cleanup.

“Ah, just one more thing, sir. You’re blowing up those boats, saying they’re filled with drugs headed for the US. But then you go and pardon the guy who brought in 400 tons of cocaine. That’s billions of doses. Help me understand that.”

It’s only Americanism if it’s from the Constitutionally-sound region of federal policy. Otherwise, it’s just sparkling fascism.

rich dudes got freakier after butlers fell out of fashion, like say what you will about having domestic servants but clearly it was some sort of moderating force on old rich dudes having a fancy man follow you around saying shit like "oh dear sir, that wouldn't be very becoming"

Trump said today he'll be pardoning former Honduran President Juan Hernandez, who was convicted of drug trafficking and weapons charges in 2024 and sentenced to 45 years in prison.

Waging a drug war on Venezuela while pardoning a narco-terrorist takes hypocrisy to a level once thought impossible.

1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics.

It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT.

It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.

Transgender care saves lives.
Study In The Journal Of Pediatrics Finds Trans Youth Care Lowers Suicidality, Few Detransition
The groundbreaking study found that suicidality dropped for transgender youth receiving hormone therapy by nearly 70%, with only 7 patients of 432 discontinuing treatment.

My phone is doing all the same things from 2015 with only minimal benefits. The only reason we have to upgrade is increased software bloat.

We should actually just have phones that last 15 years now.

I remember learning about oligarchies in social studies as a kid and wondering how the governed tolerated it.

Didn’t really want to learn first-hand.
One of the things that kills me about all this is that it’s just, like, maybe ten guys.

Just saw a claim from Fox News that No Kings protestors got $500 each. Times 7 million protestors (on the low end) that’s 3.5 billion dollars. These people expect us to believe someone is spending that to get the US government to…tax billionaires fairly? 🤣🤣🤣

Also, where’s my check?
