I don't know how we got to this place where they're fighting over just enough funding to cut transit *only a little* right after bragging about the transit options for the World Cup. So messed up.

But I credit Sunrise Movement and KCUR for keeping the benches top of mind for these negotiations
Kansas City will provide more than $13.3 million in additional funding to cover buses and the city’s rideshare service, IRIS. This is the second installment of funding the city and the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority agreed to in a contract they signed in August.
Kansas City is giving transit agency more money, but not enough to stop bus cuts
The city is giving the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority an additional $13 million as part of a contract agreed on in August. But the KCATA still plans to cut two bus lines and limit hours on more than a dozen others.

They say they’re protecting kids. They’re not. They’re harming these kids by blocking their access to health care.

These comments make clear what this is about: Eliminating *all* trans people of all ages.

If they get away with it with trans people, they’re coming for you next.

So the city can remove bus benches and close businesses because the KCPD is called too much? And that's business owners' problem? What a great precedent this sets www.kcur.org/news/2025-11...

Missourians are fighting to veto the state’s new GOP gerrymander at the ballot box, but Republicans are in a “bare-knuckle brawl” to stop them. Their recent tactic? Creating legal delays that could sabotage voters’ efforts ahead of a critical deadline.

Missouri’s referendum on minimum wage and paid sick leave last year won by a margin of 58 to 42 percent statewide. Under a proposal advanced by the GOP, it would have failed because it didn’t win more than 50 percent in every congressional district.
Under this GOP Measure, All of Missouri’s Recent Popular Initiatives Would Have Failed
Lawmakers just advanced a constitutional amendment to drastically raise the bar for approving citizen ballot measures. Voters get to weigh in on the scheme next year.
