In my opinion, Kevin Anderson's framing of the climate crisis, is the most important framing for not just climate policy, but for the whole of our societies, and politics.

There are no non-radical futures, and we are faced with a stark choice.

Scott Bessent is becoming the Comical Ali of the Trump administration. Going out to the world and saying trade deals with the US provide “great certainty”, when Trump is spewing tariffs out the wazoo every day, requires an uncommon ability to suspend disbelief.

These so-called "patriotic" 🇬🇧newspapers who brought you Brexit were never really patriotic at all.

They are driven by a disdain for Britain's European neighbours, and a fawning obsession with America.

They do not really want 🇬🇧 to be sovereign. They're content being a 🇺🇸vassal.

We don't need Greenland. We need healthcare. We need living wages. We need democracy. We need equality and a real justice system. We need freedom from Russian influence. We need a president who isn't a felon rapist determined to watch his opponents burn.

Nuclear defense is why we built a base on Greenland in 1951. We had this idea 75 years ago. The base has been there since then. You don’t have to invade a country where you already have everything. Invasion just destroys what you have and much else besides.

It’s amazing watching the U.S. cede the global auto market to China. We’re 24–36 months away from utter devastation in U.S. vehicle exports, because both automakers and the U.S. are scared of EVs, because a dozen petroleum executives have a whole political party at their beck and call.

It’s like ICE stealing that kid’s phone and selling it. No responsibility, no law, just greedy violence. But on a massive scale. As though McKremlin consultants were explaining how to do it.
The main bank account holding revenue from the Venezuelan oil sales is located in Qatar.

“There is no basis in law for a president to set up an offshore account that he controls so that he can sell assets seized by the American military,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

We hear a lot of talk about “freedom” from my Republican colleagues. And yet these same Republicans are working overtime to deny tens of millions of women the basic freedom to control their own bodies.

That is wrong, and it represents a fundamental betrayal of what freedom is about.

This is something I have been wondering about as well - not only putting NATO to the edge, but also the short attention span and threat of military action across the world (Venezuela, Greenland, Cuba, Colombia, Iran...) must overstretch even US military forces.
“As the US military chases Trump’s ever-changing Sharpie lines across the world’s maps, the West’s enemies will be tempted to take advantage of the fact that the US has obliterated the most powerful alliance in history while scattering American forces around the globe in showpiece operations.”
Trump’s Most Dangerous Obsession

Time to stop writing articles about the "security" or "economic" reasons to capture Greenland, they are irrelevant
Not everyone believed me when I wrote that Trump wants Greenland becuase it would make him feel important, but that's what he told the NYT:

When asked why he needed to possess the territory, he said: “Because that’s what I feel is psychologically needed for success"
