“Children are dying while 6,000 trucks with food wait a few miles away,” say CPC leaders Reps. Greg Casar, Ilhan Omar and Chuy Garcia. “We demand Trump use U.S. leverage to ensure that Israel fully restores international aid access to Gaza. It is not too late to save millions of lives.”

Dear young people, you are allowed to enjoy when horrible people lose for at least a few hours. Revel in it. Tomorrow is soon enough to start picking everything apart. lol.

If you were too young in 2003 here is what Bush told the American people:

1) The Iraq War won’t cost a lot of money
3) We won’t need a lot of troops
4) We’ll bring peace and freedom to Iraq
5) We’ll find WMDs
6) We’ll be welcomed as liberators
7) It will be easy
8) It won’t take long

All lies.

Furious. Absolutely furious. And even more incensed than I was when we marched and protested during the freezing cold winter of 2002-2003.
Just as Iraq had no WMD, Iran has no nuclear weapons.

America has entered another unnecessary war in the Middle East

My best Costco story happened the day before Philly's COVID lockdown. Shelves were almost bare but employees were helping folks get what they needed wherever possible. Insane lines were managed skillfully by ONE person with a headset.
The employees are absolutely LOVELY.
Did a Costco run yesterday and every single employee was a goddamn delight.

"Nazis used trains, ICE uses planes" is one of the most powerful statements I've seen.
New — I spoke to the school principal of Sackets Harbor, NY, where ICE handcuffed and disappeared a mother and 3 kids (including a 3rd grader). It’s also the town Trump Border Czar Tom Homan calls home.

Cook tells me about how the small town is taking on enormous power to bring the students home:
Try that in a small town
ICE disappeared a mother and 3 children. Neighbors of Trump's Border Czar said hell no.

I'd make my aides bring me a complete list of every book in my personal library, and then I'd go down the list pitching each and every one of them with vigorous enthusiasm.
What would you talk about for 19 hours?

Spending my spring break as an elementary educator AT HOME. I actually feel, dare I say, rested?! My 12 yr old son and I went to an aquarium to see the hippos and built Legos and listened to audiobooks and went for walks. Felt like hoarding joy in the best way. ❤️

That the National Archives are going offline this weekend for a period of time is likely not great news, especially as the Trump administration is forcing all of our cultural institutions to erase actual history and culture to whitewash it.

I do wish this was more part of the story.
This jibes with contemporary reporting that the raids hit several residential buildings, in each case killing about 15 people and wounding more. Maybe a little more of the conversation should be about how cavalier we apparently are about bombing civilian homes? www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/3/...

IMLS is the Institute of Museum and Library Services. It's about $200 million per year for libraries and $50 million for museums. Not a lot for the federal budget, but a huge piece of the culture and knowledge system - which is why MAGA is eliminating it.
March 15, 2025 at 1:02 PM
Criminal. I have a personal attachment to IMLS bc almost 20 yrs ago I received a grant, initiated by Laura Effing Bush of all people, that fully funded my masters and got me a job in a city library. I was one of dozens who benefited. Funding has eroded over the years but this death knell hits hard.
Yesterday the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services was required to be "eliminated to the maximum extent consistent with applicable law," and required to "reduce the performance of their statutory functions and associated personnel to the minimum presence and function required by law"
Continuing the Reduction of the Federal Bureaucracy

I just called Gillibrand ((202) 224-4451). She's the one I call as a mere *constituent.*

I left a message saying "The vote on cloture MUST BE NO. The Fake out to the 30 CR JUST SO Republicans can pass their bill with 51 votes is treachery. The vote must be NO."

Feel free to us my script. :)
🚨 Everyone needs to call their Dem Senator right now. They are starting to cave.

Tell them:
1. Vote NO on Cloture
AND
2. Vote NO on the Republican spending bill.

Don’t let them pivot to reconciliation. GOP doesn’t need Dem votes on that and they know it.

TODAY is the showdown.
