It is frustrating and, frankly, frightening that the defense of basic rights, the constitutional order, and democratic self-government against the authoritarian onslaught depends so much on a party that so consistently fails and/or proves unwilling to meet the moment.

I know I'm a broken record, but, again: a key problem of the Harris campaign was way too much focus on winning over conservatives.

Can't stress this enough: Democrats need to eject the Scarboroughs and Cheneys from the movement, embrace the AOCs, Warrens and Crocketts, then decide what they stand for, dig a foxhole and defend it to the end.
