It’s all so stupid and evil, developed by the worst people for the worst reasons.
"Those who own land would be offered a digital token by the trust in exchange for rights to redevelop their property, to be used to finance a new life elsewhere or eventually redeemed for an apartment in one of six to eight new “AI-powered, smart cities” to be built in Gaza."
Gaza postwar plan envisions ‘voluntary’ relocation of entire population
President Donald Trump and international partners are discussing plans to build a “Riviera of the Middle East” on the rubble of Gaza. One would establish U.S. control and pay Palestinians to leave.

If you can't come up with a winning message about how the power mad dunce emperor marching federal troops into peaceful cities is bad, you should not have a job in politics
This memo is being sent to Democratic leaders/elites,
arguing that directly attacking Trump's deployment of the National Guard in DC is politically unwise. It encourages the use of terms like distraction and stunt. (I am not endorsing this kind of thinking at all. ) www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/bz9d8...

The explicit plan is to ethnically cleanse Gaza with US help while the whole world watches.
(AXIOS) - The director of Israel's Mossad spy agency visited Washington this week seeking U.S. help in convincing countries to take hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from Gaza, two sources with knowledge of issue tell Axios.

we have an elite impunity problem (globally, but the US is certainly no exception) and nothing will get better until we deal with this
so much driving motivation in people in even the slightest position of power, regardless of where they find themselves on the political map, is "i should never have to feel bad, feel regret, feel shame, or otherwise reconsider my decisions" and every choice, policy and personal, falling from there

Today, the World Food Programme stockpiles inside Gaza finally ran out, 54 days after the Israeli military banned aid supplies to the area.

Unless Israel’s blockade is ended or broken, civilians in Gaza will eventually start dying of starvation in large numbers.

Today marks one month since US greencard holder Mahmoud Khalil was ripped apart from his US citizen pregnant wife, forcibly disappeared, and taken into ICE custody thousands of miles away, all for exercising his constitutionally-protected rights.

Unidentified men grabbing someone off the street and putting her in a car because she wrote an op-Ed. This as flatly authoritarian as anything we’ve seen in this country in a very long time.
Video of the international student at Tufts being arrested by "federal authorities" in Massachusetts has been released and it's terrifying.

They're not even uniformed officers. Just secret police thugs in hoodies and masks.

And the mid/long term plan is to expel Palestinians from Gaza, occupy it permanently and settle there. The Trump "plan" created a tangible horizon of ethnic cleansing and the Israeli right wing is moving towards that horizon, even if actual expulsion may take years.

One of the disturbing reactions to the Mahmoud Khalil arrest is people making things up that he did to justify it that even the Trump admin doesn't claim he did. People just see him as the *type* of person who did the things they're mad about, so punishing him for it is acceptable. Lynching logic.

If organs of state security and demagogues and mob leaders are acting in concert to crack down on dissent it is unequivocally fascist. I don’t mean this to be a polemic: it's the only appropriate term from political science and theory for this practice.

Israel and Hamas agreed to a 3 phase framework in the final days of the Biden administration.
