Tl;dr2: We have a system of checks & balances that no longer does any checking or balancing. Now it provides the shabby veneer of democratic accountability for fascism. It turns out it was all norms & duct tape holding things together for 250 years, & now we're all out of both norms & tape.

The reason why MN is at the top of most quality of life & affordability metrics is because of Tim Walz & Mark Dayton. Dayton rescued our state from Pawlenty's trickle down bs & built the foundation for Walz's success. I can't think of a more successful, progressive governor than Walz in my lifetime.
Here’s what Tim Walz has done as governor of Minnesota • Minnesota Reformer

Jan. 6 was an insurrection.

Invading other countries is illegal.

Roger Stone, meanwhile, not only perhaps pocketed $42K he raised for security on Jan. 5 and 6, but also got Publix Heiress Julie Fancelli, who largely financed the Jan. 6 rally, to pay for extensive dental work, including a set of dentures. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

Trump keeps lying about this, but many 1/6 attackers were armed, @markfollman.bsky.social and I repeatedly showed. www.motherjones.com/criminal-jus...; www.motherjones.com/criminal-jus.... Few attackers were caught with guns because only a few were arrested that day, not because they were unarmed.
NEW EVIDENCE: Trump extremists brought numerous guns to the Capitol on January 6
Insurrectionists carried concealed pistols, allegedly stockpiled weapons nearby, and called for overthrowing the US government.

The Oathkeepers did not come to DC with a clear plan to attack Congress. But they brought guns and sought direction from Trump on what violent help he might want. On 1/6, they decided that was storming the Capitol. This story first named their "operations leader." www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

Stone raised funds for "security" for January 6 events, mingled with Oath Keepers, and urged "an epic struggle" for Trump.

If KSM got elected president, made DOJ toss his charges and started issuing press releases blaming firefighters for 9/11, it would be more important to use the anniversary of that day to note who actually did it. So we gotta observe January 6's five year anniversary by noting what really happened.

January 6 is worst event in recent American history because it's ongoing. Our government is telling us it wasn't bad, that those people who shit in Congress were right. And because it ultimately kind of worked. Trump is the president and no one he nominated for office would publicly admit Biden won.
