Thirty-eight of 43 experts cut last month from the boards that review the science and research that happens in laboratories at the National Institutes of Health are female, Black or Hispanic, according to an analysis by the chairs of a dozen of the boards.

This should terrify every person in this country. The use of machine learning systems to approximate an individuals views on war and then, if they are here lawfully on a visa, tag them for deportation is about as sci-fi dystopian as it gets.

This morning at Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HQ in DC as mandatory return to office began, this video played on loop for ~5 mins on screens throughout the building, per agency source.

Building staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.

you should read david’s thread for a thorough dismantling of this article. i will only add that it is very disappointing, although not altogether surprising, to see some progressives treat trump’s war on DEI as a legitimate policy difference and not as an explicit effort to resegregate the workforce
Look, I'm hardly one to defend DEI, but this is an incredibly poorly-reasoned article that bases its prescriptive argument on *incredibly* flimsy grounds. www.vox.com/politics/399...

The AP must refuse this but more importantly the rest of the White House Correspondents Association should back them.

Boycott the press briefings until they relent, and if they refuse, walk out. There is no real use to them in any case.

Trump craves attention. Deny him that and he’ll cave.

That’s when he gave me this gem : When someone hits you, you’re already in a fight, you’re just losing.

It’s cool to want peace but sometimes you gotta fight for it.
Here’s what’s important here. Just because the other side wants a fight doesn’t mean you should avoid one. Sometimes you have to get out of your head, quit trying to be clever and cute and fucking fight.
