Long but well worth reading, this piece destroys nativism and puts forth a progressive vision I think many people believe in but haven't heard from leaders, media, or influencers.
“I want a progressive movement that is aggressively pro raising wages at the bottom and aggressively pro immigration. These are completely coherent goals.” Great piece by @polphilpod.bsky.social

Jack Smith's information belongs to the US public.

This government belongs to us. Information about this government belongs to us. This government exists at the behest of the US public.

It's infuriating that they have these investigations and yet they're secret

These people serve us. It's ours.

This is Jacob Smith who I was lucky enough to collaborate with on the Reframe Road Safety campaign.

This campaign called out those who design, approve & implement inequitable transportation systems that disproportionately affect youth + BIPOC communities. 1/

Agree. We are murdering people. This is criminal and immoral.

If you read just one thing today, make it this:

"By not impeaching, or even starting the process of getting there, Congress sends the message that Trump is America, and that it has acquiesced to the Constitution being replaced by Trump’s brand of corrupt evil."

Oaths Of Office, And How Everyone Not Moving To Impeach Trump Is Violating Their Own
Until very recently the only member of Congress excused from not having moved to impeach Trump was Rep. Grijalva, because until someone swore her in there was nothing she could officially do. But f…

The military has a duty to refuse unlawful orders, but Congress has a duty to remove from office a president and secretary who would issue such orders. There is something off about members of Congress talking about the former while refusing to say the latter, the part that's actually their job here.

While Trump is ordering the FBI to investigate U.S. Senators over a video reminding military members they don’t have to follow illegal orders, it might be worth noting that “I was only following orders” was rejected as a defense at the Nuremberg Trials.

Note for Democratic politicians: you don't have to start your condemnations of ICE raids with "We all want to catch violent criminals, but..." Just say "These raids have nothing to do with catching criminals and everything to do with terrorizing innocent minority groups."

i just read something about grief from C.S. Lewis and his book, “A Grief Observed”

basically, when someone you love dies, it isn’t just them that you miss, but the parts of yourself that person brought out of you that can never be brought out again.

i feel that with my dad.

The Justice Dept is observing elections in CA. Why? Because election observation is one of the most effective ways to catch foul play. We know that. That's why we've been doing election observation for over 4 years. And now we're expanding that work across the country.
