Framing Washington Post layoffs as anything other than a billionaire owner killing journalism to curry favor with the government he does business with is journalistic malpractice.

You think the guy who owns Amazon hasn’t figured out digital?

Bezos isn't destroying the Washington Post because it isn't profitable. He's destroying the Washington Post because he's calculated that a robust free press threatens the ability of his class to warp society around their interests

Excellent analysis of how the regime violated journalists’ 1st Amendment rights (and a court order) to protect the 1A rights of ICE supporters.

If opposing groups exercise their 1A rights & journalists cover it, the gov’t should stay out of it. But instead they chose to persecute Black folks.

Instead of investigating the murders of citizens by ICE agents, the administration is arresting journalists. An unconscionable 1st amendment violation.

The thing about the Boston Massacre— the fruits of arbitrary power— was not that the colonists were universally in the right. Things were thrown at the soldiers. But, the presence of a standing army escalated conditions. The use of force that night was not proportional. Citizens died needlessly.

I’m all for challenging the status quo in media, but what’s happening at CBS isn't a "correction." It’s the installation of a specific ideological filter under the guise of "common sense." If "fearless journalism" means pulling stories that might upset the administration, it’s merely PR.

Just checking in again to remind everyone that January 6 is the day 77 million people watched a violent attempted coup and said, “Yes. That. That’s what I’m voting for.” And look at us now.

The biggest thing that keeps me up at night right now is still China and Taiwan. I’m not sure if anyone has looked at the price of RAM lately, but it’s astronomical.

American manufacturers are only making RAM for AI data centers now, so a war in Taiwan could cripple the global chip industry.

The Pulitzer Board is out here showing CBS and ABC how it's done: Defamation requires proof that the publisher lied. So if 47 is suing for damages, he has to produce the proof in discovery. So the board is asking for tax returns, medical records, and more.

For like the zillionth time: Libraries are FREE for you, but WE still get compensated for our work!!
Just saw someone claim that authors who want to be paid for their work are "class traitors" because we "only let the wealthy" read our books, and I think I need to go into the woods to scream into the night for a bit.

It's $5, not your first-born child! I need that $5 for health insurance!

Their response to the video by Sen. Kelly et al shows that Trump and Hegseth are crap politicians. A clever politician would say, “Of *course* soldiers may disobey unlawful orders.” The outrage blows any cover of plausible deniability they might claim when, God willing, they’re held accountable.
Mark Kelly: "My wife, Gabby Giffords, meeting with her constituents, shot in the head. Six people killed around her, a horrific thing. She spent six months in the hospital. We know what political violence is and we know what causes it too, The statements that Donald Trump made incites others."

This thread, y’all … but especially this part.
Some of you might be tempted to say “women are nurturers by nature” and let me just tell you: no we’re not. Our girlhoods are simply an apprenticeship in putting ourselves last. We are conditioned from birth to base our worth in how well we care take rather than achieve our own goals. It’s shit!
