Ok so I know that it’s David Brooks writing this and I haven’t read the article but the thesis statement here is correct. I think it includes younger millennials as well. Regardless of what he wrote, the sheer amount of rejection in every aspect of life that were expected to put up with is absurd

Every so often, it just comes back to me in full force. The political and economic order that allowed this man to come to power is obviously no longer tenable. The leaders who let it happen obviously have to be replaced. This is an epoch defining failure and we have to turn the page completely.

Lots of people blaming the death of MeToo on vague culprits like men as a group, but I think we can zero in on a specific moment: Joe Biden’s election. MeToo’s own leaders buried the movement to elect him in 2020. Tara Reade’s allegation was credible, so they buried her and MeToo at large
It doesn’t get addressed in most assessments of Democrats’ run to the right and antagonism of their base, but part of that strategy has been the abandonment of Me Too and its moral authority—and the unwillingness to go on the attack over stuff like this.
