This is exactly how I explain it to my students. The paper (and for that matter pretty much any assignment) is a means, not an end.
Even accepting the premise that AI produces useful writing (which no one should), using AI in education is like using a forklift at the gym. The weights do not actually need to be moved from place to place. That is not the work. The work is what happens within you.

Saw this in the morning; thinking about it a lot today
Guru Nanak Kitchen in Edinburgh was handing out free meals and I asked if it was OK to take one even though I could afford to buy something. They told me firmly that it was important that people who didn't NEED free food took it, so that those who did NEED it could take without feeling exposed.

BlueSky is trying to monetize so let's show them some numbers:

Reskeet this if you refuse to pay for BlueSky+ until trust & safety decides to prioritize marginalized users.

That's $96 / year of lost revenue for each reskeet...

It’s not illegal to shit on the floor in public, but everyone is also allowed to call you a floor shitter whenever you show your face in public!
It may not be possible to stop all cases of unethical and creepy content scraping, but we CAN treat people who openly do it like the creep-ass-floor-shitters they are!

For every reskeet this gets, I will post a random picture from my camera roll with no explanation (other than alt text).

Let the games begin.

This! The problem is that so very few people are actually good managers that most people have never HAD a good manager and seen what they can do for you and your productivity. It's a relic of the fact that when you hit a certain career point, management is the only way to keep advancing.
good management is actually of vital importance and it’s a damn shame that our society doesn’t take this seriously
It's Akin to capitalist realism when people maintain an assumption that managers are always just bad bosses
