A story I found about Haiti:

In 1999, a group of Haitians were tired of political disorder and dreamed of a better life in the United States. So they built a small, 23-foot boat by hand using pine trees, scrap wood, and used nails. They called the boat "Believe in God."

I want the people who self-righteously declared that voting for harm reduction in the 2024 presidential election was not the morally correct thing to do to really look at that headline and internalize it.
NEW: Without USAID funding to help buy food for refugees, the World Food Program rushed to prioritize families based on need, determining that only half the population would get food.

Refugees learned which half they were in from a number stamped on the back of their ration card.

I was genuinely stunned recently when I discovered that having a cinematic imagination was not normal. What do you mean you can't see the play of light on the feathers of a bird?
Can yall visualise the books you’re reading?! #booksky

I don't miss much about living in England, but now and then a Boots meal deal would really hit the spot. They even own Walgreens now, they could make it happen.
While it's probably not high up on the list of "things Indian people are not happy the UK has done", they probably wouldn't be happy with the amount of Indian food themed sandwiches we have here either, as we are the undisputed land of prepared sandwiches/lunch-to-go (worth £8bn in 2017):

The long read: The world-beating British sandwich industry is worth £8bn a year. It transformed the way we eat lunch, then did the same for breakfast – and now it’s coming for dinner

This man is my age. He doesn't have the bone density for this.
The Colts will start QB Philip Rivers on Sunday against the Seahawks, sources tell The Insiders.

Age 44, out of retirement, after a full week of practice, Rivers is a go.

While I largely agree, it does bring to mind the fact that years ago I was at a hotel that had a Salvation Army convention and a Supernatural Convention at the same weekend. Hilarious, and wasn't even the weirdest thing I saw at that hotel.

Do. Not. Donate. To. Salvation. Army.

There are better charities out there. Much better.

He, of course, had absolutely no agency in this story.
Prosecutor in court says Sherrone Moore went to woman's house, "grabbed several butter knives and a pair of kitchen scissors and began to threaten his own life. 'I'm going to kill myself. I'm going to make you watch. My blood is on your hands. You ruined my life.'"

I mean your other option was Dr. Oz as a senator. Like. Fetterman sucks. But your only other option after kicking the Democrat establishment candidate to the curb in the primary was Dr. Oz.

I lost my Mum to cancer about 15 months ago (4 days after my dog). She'd been slipping away to dementia for the last few years and had a brain haemorrhage about a decade ago that fundamentally changed her. It's a strange thing to mourn someone twice, BUT THE MOURNING PART IS IMPORTANT.

Jessie Buckley is a wonderfully talented actress, but it breaks my brain that I first encountered her on the BBC musical reality TV show "I'd Do Anything." Hosted by Graham Norton. She came second. 🫠
Saw Hamnet today. Best film as well as the most devastating emotionally in years. Even after leaving the theater, I felt like I was going to start crying. Again.

I have no idea who else will get nominated, but I can’t fathom l a performance out there that can top Jessie Buckley’s.

The Colts are planning to bring potential Hall of Fame QB Philip Rivers into their facility Tuesday to work out to see if he may join their practice squad, per me & Mike Garafolo.

This is real. Daniel Jones’ season is over, Riley Leonard will start, but Rivers may be an option.
