It was very telling that for three days, none of the major TV anchors would have me on air one-on-one to talk about my firing from the Washington Post over Charlie Kirk.

The first offers were from
Black media, independent media, Substackers, and podcasters.

It’s going to break your heart how many people you know, love, and respect will turn out to be cowards. Prepare yourself as best you can. You are not alone, but you are your own center. Be a strong center.

Over the past few months @wired.com, @teenvogue.com, @prismreports.org, @truthout.org, @inquest.bsky.social, @hammerandhope.bsky.social, @theguardian.com, @rollingstone.com and so many other outlets have kept me more than informed.

The @newrepublic.com actually does very useful and helpful REPORTING. How about @propublica.org? Excellent. The @51st.news is doing excellent actual reporting. So is @thetriibe.com in Chicago.

There are so many other places to get actual useful news.

I will remind folks those images of Nazi book burnings aren't burning just any books. They're burning the library of Magnus Hirschfeld; a gay, Jewish doctor who created an institute dedicated to LGBTQ sex education and healthcare. And a man who pioneered gender affirming care surgeries.

A kitchen table issue I care about is the Smithsonian not twisting the facts of history to the president’s will.

The first thing everyone in this country who is anti-fascist can do now is to join something where people are already gathering to address any issue. Can't find anything you want to join, then make your own thing and invite people to join you. This is not a time for Lone Rangers.
