In my opinion Jesse Singal should shoot himself in the head
You can’t volunteer for some thing and then get mad that you have to do the thing…. You can’t do that

It’s too much sometimes. I hide and stare at my real name like it’s pornographic. Like it’s secret. Like I will be beaten for holding it

absolutely. framing “het trans women” & “trans lesbians” as being in opposition to one another is literally just repackaged Blanchardism. a false dichotomy.

this is the tool of the enemy. we do not need it.

when a bathroom ban passes, her colleagues will still show up for work the next day. when her healthcare is made illegal, she will undergo osteoporosis alone. when the world ends for her, life will still go on for everyone who knew her. she will face death with the rest of us, yet alone.
i think the thing that hurts me most about a trans woman who thinks she's not like other girls, thinks she's the exception in every moment of public discussion on the right of ppl like her to exist, thinks those discussions are about ppl like her and not about her too — is that she has no community

our oppressors know that by making constant bad faith accusations of racism, they make people skeptical of all accusations and this disproportionately hurts twoc and serves as a way to silence them.

it’s something to be aware of if you at all give a shit about trans women who aren’t white

and like i could go into how it’s also largely a way for white queers to displace their own racism onto trans women, how it’s really a way of calling trans women men, or how it’s a way to be misogynistic in a progressive way… but i don’t do that today and instead will just say that i think

Anyone willing to toss out one trans person, like them or not, for the sake of appeasing power, deserves to be beaten into a coma by every trans person.
I keep asking this question about people who advocate for giving up "just a few" rights for trans or queer folks and it's always telling how unwilling anyone ever is to consider it

I get it. the logic of "if the right is stoking transphobia, that must mean that transphobia is popular. we need to appeal to what is popular to win people over" makes a lot of sense. if you are a moral coward with no true convictions
and a lot of leftists are following their lead

i suppose this is why "attack helicopter" and "detransition, baby" never sat qwhite right with me but i've since been repeatedly told that my asian diaspora sensibilities were clearly wrong

and so once again there's that "well, are you an f-slur or a g-slur? pick one," thing that happens frequently
One thing that's kind of awkward for me to talk about but I think merits some commentary: I have found myself frequently in the position of coming across work that is lauded as good trans rep, and upon diving into the pages, finding just ... the most bizarre, disturbing racism.
Instead of going down a (long) list of how these portrayals are poorly done, I can offer some writing advice.

Speaking as someone who sees a lot of poor representation, as both a trans woman and a woman of color from an oft-exoticized culture, I think I can offer some insight.

So. Stereotypes.

i feel about them the same way they feel about us. i am not a temporarily embarrassed cissexual, i am part of an exploited class that deserves equal rights. i believe that a game in which my sisters must respect the people who are responsible for dead trans women we've known is an unwinnable game.

The funniest bit of sloganeering I've heard regarding intracommunity discourses is to the tune of: "they're going to throw us all in camps just the same when they come for us".

And like ... I don't know how to explain that they HAVE come for us and we're not all being targeted "just the same".
