At about the 35-second mark the officer says "IF YOU FUCKING MOVE I'LL FUCKING TASE YOU," followed immediately by "GET OUT OF THE FUCKING CAR RIGHT NOW."

Which contradictory order are you supposed to follow, knowing that either could get you tased? Or worse?

The political ground is shifting on ICE. Your own Dem rep or senator may not have caught up yet. Now - before the 1/30 funding deadline - is the time to push.

This! You’ve made the calculation that confronting ice with physical force or arrest isn’t tenable right now? Ok. I can understand how people could reach that conclusion.

You can’t think of a single other goddam thing to do with your power than say be careful out there! Wtf are you good for then?
I have a colleague telling me he and his neighbors have had to form volunteer patrol squads to protect children as they go to and from school with zero assistance from anyone in authority?

Surely there's options between all out war with the federal government and "play nice out there!"

the people of MN have been murdered, brutalized and kidnapped for weeks now and have remained *amazingly* peaceful in the face of it. lecturing citizens to not “take the bait” etc is pretty disrespectful after a point and avoids the real question: how long are they supposed to take this, undefended?
State investigators have been on the scene in North Minneapolis.

I know you’re angry. I’m angry. What Donald Trump wants is violence in the streets.

But Minnesota will remain an island of decency, of justice, of community, and of peace.

Don’t give him what he wants.

Think you have to retire the phrase “immigration crackdown” when every major violent spectacle — at least those the news is choosing to highlight — involve US citizens screaming “Check my ID!”
As the Trump administration escalates its immigration crackdown in Minneapolis, arrests and aggressive tactics by ICE and the Border Patrol, many seen on viral videos, have intensified the frustration and fear among residents, business owners and immigrant workers. trib.al/zVm2mk5

Just emailed to cancel an account I didn’t remember I had. Felt good to tell them where to shove it
It's worth your time to call Hilton to cancel your account with them. 1-800-446-6677. Here's why:

They asked me if it was because of the ICE thing. I said it was. Then they suggested I wait a couple days to see if they were going to change course.

The pressure is getting to them. Let's keep it up.

Clarity is essential in these moments. Using words like "or otherwise" leaves ambiguity as to whether he is considering First Amendment activity "taking the bait."

Not only is that bad for people in Minneapolis, but it's language that the Trump administration will use against people.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey says 29 people were arrested in downtown last night during a noise demonstration at a hotel reportedly housing ICE agents: "For those that are taking the bait and causing property damage or otherwise, there are consequences. We're holding the line here all the way."
