I was talking to my mom about my sleep and ADHD issues

Mom: Why do you have all these issues?

Me (jokingly): Well. I got them from you and dad.

Mom: What do you mean? Your dad and I sleep great.

Me: You take sleep meds and dad stays up till 3am most nights

Mom: oh right!

😂😂

I love TestContainers. It facilitate Integration testing and ensuring I have the same database based on my migration on every environment (dev, test, env).
But I dislike that I have to fuck (and fight) with DinD and Gitlab CI everytime to make the "perfect pipelines"...

The problem with most machine-based random number generators is that they’re not TRULY random, so if you need genuine randomness it is sometimes necessary to link your code to an external random process like a physical noise source or the current rate of US tariffs on a given country.

“Success is given not earned” is a line from a recent interview with Anthony Mackie.

It’s a variant of the adage that success is when preparation meets opportunity. You can work hard but it doesn’t matter if you don’t get the opportunity.

This means put yourself out there not don’t work hard.

This!

I was the entire IT department for a small company in the early 2000s. I learned so much about how to problem solve, how to enable users to ask questions, how to distill what is the true ask from the executives.

I use everything I learned from that time, but mostly the people skills.
Please imagine life outside the cybersecurity pipeline. I beg of you. Living is its own job experience. You can't follow my path, but I did Helpdesk for 10 years. I thought it was a shame. And now I'm proud of it and advertise. I didn't have the perspective to know what it gave me.
You don't either.

One can never truly appease bullies. They see attempts to do so as weakness begging to be attacked.
The way Canada has still ended up with tariffs, despite ostensibly reaching a compromise deal only a few weeks ago, is quite instructive when it comes to the argument that Zelensky not wearing a suit is the reason why the US have pulled military aid...

There will always be scammers. But people in our current culture are so desperate for something to change their lives that they're actually putting the scammers in charge. We really need to be examining the implications of that.

Journalists should start asking lawmakers what they intend to do when Trump and Musk decide that there are too many of them. They clearly aren't required for lawmaking. I mean, just divide the U.S. into four quadrants and have one senator for each quadrant, hand-picked by the sitting president.

Senator Raphael Warnock ahead of the vote on RFK Jr. for HHS Secretary:

"I simply do not trust him to oversee the CDC. He's unqualified, and I dare say that everybody here knows it."

BOOM!
