Officially lost #Whamageddon today but not a huge surprise since I’m working in a coffeeshop. I’m only surprised it took them 3 hours to get to Last Christmas on their playlist.

All super rich guys sound the same now. It’s all “I sleep four hours a night and spend the other twenty hours a day developing a product that’s going to bring us the best widespread poverty anyone’s ever seen.”

@jlphistory.bsky.social's 'do you want to react, or do you want to respond' lives rent-free in my head. I think you will find that very few things need a response RIGHT NOW, and some don't need one at all when you pause to think. The joy of asymmetrical communication is that you have time to think!

Hi other tech folks! Does anyone have recommendations for trans-friendly recruiters on the West Coast?

I’m a lead product manager with around a decade of experience. Looking to shift back to a salaried position after consulting the last couple years.

Reposts appreciated, thanks!

If you’re still buying Starbucks coffee (ESPECIALLY here in Seattle where there are a million independent roasters and coffeehouses that have tastier drinks anyway) you’re a scab. It’s that simple.

Told my boss that my intention is to “ooze into the new year” (we had a very busy November.) She responded, “yeahhh I don’t intend to win any productivity awards this month.” So anyway, happy Bare Minimum Season to all who celebrate.

Friendly reminder that dishwashers made after 1995 or so are so water and energy efficient that even if you ran them twice fully loaded it would still use less water than handwashing the same load.

So many "green" things feel like sacrifices. Dishwashers are not one of them.

Genuine question: how the heck do I find more hr friends on here? If I try to search "human resources" it's just the same old tired "HR isn't your friend" takes. I know we're not all like that, so where are we?

Maybe important to note it was the disruption in air travel that Democrats couldn't stand and not, you know, 40+ million people not knowing where their next meal was coming from.

Zohran has now gotten more votes, in New York City alone, than 49 members of the U.S. Senate did when they get elected; It's likely that, when the final tally is complete, he'll have gotten more votes than half of all Senators currently in office. *This* is what power and purpose looks like.
