Books. Food.
Resist. Insist.
What are we going to do about it?
Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy for the win.

Sound familiar? This was from a 1942 movie, Keeper of the Flame. 83 fucking years ago, and we have learned NOTHING!

Democrats have to seriously consider whether we are going to answer more to corporations or to people—and the the answer should always be the people.

New Mexico has issued a public health order that removes federal restrictions to COVID-19 vaccine access so that pharmacies in New Mexico can vaccinate people of all ages and risk profiles. Every state need to do this!

Thou shalt not end vaccines. God will not save you from plague. The Middle Ages should’ve made that very clear.

Look at this graph.

The share of national income going to the richest 10 percent was lowest (and share to lower 90 percent highest) when union membership was at its highest. As unions have weakened, inequality has widened.

This is why we must build back union power.

In Bell, CA an entire community stood up against ICE, including the local police and the fire dept. The fire truck appears to not allow ICE vehicles to move forward nor remain and pushes forward to escort them out. A police car also helped with escorting. /

Today in "neither our media nor our political system is designed to deal with a far right authoritarian party" 🤔😂

Thanks to @thorbenson.bsky.social & @atrupar.com for the chance to elaborate on my laments about how our political & societal institutions are particularly ill-suited to fight fascism
"The media continues to cover politics as if it is still the 1990s. 'Both parties are basically center-right or center-left parties.' The journalism infrastructure in our country wants to pretend that that’s the world that we live in. The instinct is to treat everything politicians say as valid."

All of mainstream media. Just not capable of meeting this moment. Useless. All of you.
I'm sorry but the largest protest of my lifetime is not the 7th or 8th biggest news story in the country behind "what does Gen Z want from Instagram?" This shit is humiliating. Rearrange your layout to meet this moment. Omitting the thing happening in every American city is malpractice.

A timely quote from Dr. Carla Hayden: “Libraries are a cornerstone of democracy—where information is free and equally available to everyone. People tend to take that for granted, and they don’t realize what is at stake when that is put at risk.”
