Long suffering wife, mother & Optical Dispenser, stuck in my comfort zone. Still harbour the notion that I can change the world, although when push comes to shove, usually can’t be arsed. The Isle Of Skye is my happy place!
Hmmm 🤔

I’m sure there’s nothing in it for either of them!
Crypto investor and former Tory donor Christopher Harborne has just given a record-breaking £9 million donation to Reform.

Nigel Farage has spent recent months publicly calling for deregulation of the crypto industry, telling an industry conference that "I am your champion"

It's all bad but hadn't seen the bit where Farage says:

"The European Union is the prototype for the New World Order."

That is a seriously, deeply problematic term that taps into Illuminati and antisemitic conspiracy theories.

How the fuck did this man direct the course of our politics?
We kept the receipts. These comments, taken together, paint a picture of the man he is today.

Three out of five men in this shot have been accused of sexual misconduct, harassment or abusive behaviour towards women. A fourth signed into law a near-total abortion ban in his state as governor.

Pleased to discover that slightly misnaming the national chess championship you won as a school child is a much more serious offence than repeatedly racially abusing your fellow pupils and telling them they should go to the gas chamber

Ha… they are essentially, the bloody Tories!
Next time Reform claim to be something different, remember this.

You will be shocked to discover after reading these stories that while Rachel Reeves claimed to have been the "British girls under-14 [chess] champion" she was in reality merely the "Under 14s British Women’s Chess Association (BWCA) Girls" Champion.

This is getting utterly ridiculous now

Truly shocking that Rachel Reeves had the audacity to call herself the U14 girls chess champions when she won the U14 girls chess championship but some bloke thought she was talking about something else.

Is Farage still facing scrutiny over his partner’s £885k Frinton home.

Is it aggressive tax avoidance? Has he misled voters? Where’s the transparency? What’s happening?

Just asking questions.

So, we're now expected to believe that the people who covered for Johnson's corruption, the Covid mess that killed thousands, party gate, openly supported Liz Truss and insisted that Brexit was a good idea, are now telling us dishonesty is bad #Newsnight

Mason going for the jugular on the BBC News confirms that Robbie Gibb has taken his 'outing' at the Select Committee rather badly. A reminder: a grifting MP absent from his constituency, lying about the UK to the US Senate, deflecting claims of Russian collusion & racism, is the real news story.

It is just incredible that the people who always go on about immigration and muslims and sharia law in Britain are the first to promote British immigration into a muslim country with sharia law.

Let silly hacks go and work on their next bit of Westminster gossip. THIS is the main news from that conference. The clearest indication yet, right from the top.
👏🏽"We must all now confront the reality that the Brexit deal significantly hurt our economy. We have to keep reducing frictions. We have to keep moving towards a closer relationship with the EU. And we have to be grown up about it. To accept that it will require trade-offs."👏🏽

"There was truth and there was untruth, and if you clung to the truth even against the whole world, you were not mad."
This story is starting to make me feel I’m going slightly mad - maybe RR overdid the gloom, but the tax rises are paying for a) the welfare U-turns b) the £10bn-plus increase in headroom c) scrapping the two child limit d) bits of other spending eg higher local gov costs 🤷🏻‍♀️

Let's all concentrate on Tulip Siddiq & Rachel Reeves - that way we probably won't remember Farage's racism or think about Russian interference in our media/parliament.
Good job guys 👏👏👏

Yes, the NHS budget will always increase, just as the price of a loaf of bread I buy will always increase.

The key question is: Has the NHS budget kept up with rising demand due to increasing population, people living longer, people being sick for longer, etc.

The answer is a categorical: no.
One thing they keep banging on about is Historically High tax income.
Surely inflation means it should be historically high, like most people's wages, utility bills etc.
The NHS budget is historically high but everyone knows it has had several real term cuts.

Hopefully some media outlets may take up @eddavey.libdems.org.uk 's suggestions to probe Mr Farage a bit more on this.

Is Farage saying he chose to support the wishes of a hostile foreign govt for free? 😲

🔥 Rachel Reeves says there’s a “hole” in the public finances.

A new decade-long Brexit study quantifies it:

A 6–8% hit to GDP

That's £180bn-£240bn a year

It means less tax revenue and so less money for everything.

Brexit made Britain MUCH poorer.

Nearly ten years on, the first full assessment of Brexit confirms what millions warned: Britain made itself poorer
