Dan Dan the tractor man, gave us a bell to see if we want our hedges cutting again this year, subtext, cash in hand for Christmas. Answer, yes please, usual amount? expecting him to suggest a bit more, instead, he asked for less, the daft bugger cos OH did him some free machining jobs.

When I volunteered for a stint on the charity stall at today's Christmas market, I didn't realise it was tied to the Christmas lights switch on so not only is it after dark and outside, the parking will be a pain and I'll have further to walk in. Bah Humbug and buggeration.

We are now further away from the theatrical release of Raiders of the Lost Ark (June 12, 1981) than it was from the year it takes place in (1936). We have reached the Indiana Jones event horizon.

A story with three protagonists, me, Elsie and a tandoori chicken bone. Handler error!

That's me boosted, so in the spirit of self care and keeping my strength up, I had to buy these. It's such a shame they come in a pack of four, whatever will I do with the other three 🙄

*Four films to get to know me*

Me: “You can’t get to know me. My mind is beyond your comprehension. I am unknowable.”

“They’re all Star Trek films, aren’t they?”

Me: “Yes.”

Normally Wednesday is my day off, ie, when I do something I want to do and stuff the rest of the household. For reasons, this week it's today but both my first choice venues are closed on Mondays so I'm floundering a bit with the old direction for the day.

Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.

Behold today's most gripping story on social media.

And if you disagree, I'm going to throw a "carrot" at you.
In Tesco’s this afternoon: an elderly Polish man at the self-checkout, trying to buy a pint of milk and a white radish. There is no picture for the radish on the machine. The assistant doesn’t know what it is. She asks a colleague: “It’s a white radish.” There is no entry for it on the machine.

The foxes visit our garden and have been leaving poop, recently with very visible kernels/seeds in that I can't identify, so this morning I cleaned some off and stuck them in a pot. Should know what they are in 2 to 5 years. Six year old me would be proud 😁 #science #wildlife

A friend very proudly gave me a jar of her crabapple jelly, which I smiled and said all the right words over but yes, it's inedible thanks to the choice of jar. Such a shame, but the whole kitchen now smells of garlic.

After a basic start it's turned into a lovely day. Washing out, frost has seen off the dahlias, begonias and tender plants in the greenhouse so cutting back and more bulb planting being done. Deployed new headband/earwarmer v good purchase, had a brew, back out for round 2 in the sunshine.
